One of the last guys Chris spent time with on his way northwards was Josh Hoofer (hope my spelling is correct), a truck driver he met in Enderlin, North Dakota.
The interview is taken from the awesome documentary "The Call of the Wild" by Ron Lamothe (realeased in 2007). Buying recommended.

Forest fires in Alaska bring smoke jumpers . Why didn't Chris start one ? This film is the true story of Chris Mcchandless . With the money , IDS , found in his overlooked backpack , Chris didn't give it all away or want to disappear .

you shouldn't buy it ! the guy is making money using Chris name. Half of it is interviews of people who have negative opinion about Chris and the other half the doc maker talks about himself and comparing himself with Chris. TOTAL BULLSHIT!

@@gizzyguzzi elaborate? Both the author and director both worked closely with people who knew Chris very well. Knew his family for ten years before they even made the movie and did diligent research on chris’ adventure before writing the film. Please elaborate on your claim
