Ryan Goodson I'm a few weeks shy of 58 years old and decided to learn the fundamentals of basketball (ball handling and shooting) and your video was very helpful. I just watched it again after doing the drills for about a year, in order to see what else I could pick up. My dribbling has improved immensely, in part as a result of these drills as well as others. I'm having a blast learning this stuff and get a good workout. Thanks for posting this; I hope to be drafted by the NBA in the spring.

I love the sound of a basketball hit the floor like that. Sweet music to my ears. People don't understand he not trying to teach u how to dribble. Anybody can dribble your mom, a lil boy or girl can dribble but u don't have control of the ball; the ball is controlling u. He teaching u to develop handles and means controlling the ball making it do what u want it to do instead of it controlling u. The reason why most people don't like basketball because they suck at it..

Kingston Jamaica Yeah! Larry Bird, Red Auerbach & The Boston Celtics - Winning Basketball (COMPLETE ) Michael Jordan's Basketball Lesson Steve Nash_Basketball Training
@BasketballSkillz9 жыл бұрын
Kingston Jamaica There is other techniques to adapting your muscles and forearms to dribble faster. My thing is control dribble. I love speed, but if you have no control of the ball in game time situations your team will not love your dribbling ability and coach will bench you pretty much. So with super speed dribbling ability comes the responsiveness of also applying control. Master control dribbling drills, and good well balanced ball handle, then work on speed, and mastery of both speed and control in unison, That's my philosophy. Coach Ryan is helping folks to learn how to increase dribble speed! learn his methods, and add them to everything else you're doing is my suggeston.
@ryanoleary26289 жыл бұрын

if you people cant focus on what he's teaching instead of his pits and the sounds why are you watching. this is a REALLY good drill that you can do without a hoop to get really good. He's right about habits though. I didnt make freshman basketball in highschool but now im one of the best in my town as a junior because i realized i just needed to develop better habits and that eliminated the biggest holes in my game.

I don't lock my elbow on a pass and I'm a very accurate passer. I only extend and lock my elbow on my shot. No lie the key to being a good passer is not by some formula but by passing smart and looking for the best and most accurate choices, not some passing formula. You have to find flaws in the defense for passing. And, that's the same with dribbling look for your opponents flaws because if you do this formula he is teaching believe me you will get ripped. All you have to do is protect the ball well and if you protect the ball right you should have no problem.
@CaLbaTr00se9 жыл бұрын
i think this is just "keys to a quicker handle" like the title says, not "how to pass accurately" or "how to dribble." This isn't as much of a formula than just drills for explosive/quicker dribbling and whatnot. It's like doing box jumps to the max or squats....no one actually goes that low to jump, but by drilling your lower body that way, you'll ideally jump higher.
