The wonderful Deltics was my first Chris vinyl, then I bought Benny Santini. I appreciate Chris's reasons for distancing himself from the GUS/ELTON-type production, but those songs are absolutely bloody brilliant. And 40 years on I can still hear little bits of Tommy Bolin & Joe Walsh 😉😎

the girls' BV's from 3:00 - spectacular - such a strangely produced song - they got so much right but so much weirdly wrong - The BV's should've been given more air to be featured - cause they are good - the weirdest is the initial drum fill intro - horribly out of time - but kept in the final mix? WTAF?!?!? - the organ is fucking atrocious - there's a stab that is way too high for the introduction of the organ solo - that is not a great hammond/leslie sound - and boring choice of harmony chords - The song is great - just a stompin' blue eyed RnB - Chris' vox is amazing. But...just weird they left the drum glitch in at the start...
