I have had a small knife collection since I was a kid. Over the past four years I got into the higher end segment pretty hard. Pena, Gareth Bull, and CRK were the main ones I had. I decided to sell almost all of them. Something about them just setting in a box drove me crazy. I have a Large 31 coming with Raindrop Damascus. I’m going to be a one knife using guy again. Almost seemed happier that way.

Man I respect that! Yeah I can relate to that feeling. I’ve paired down my collection and really just keeping CRKs around and a few special ones. Other than that I feel like it’s a sad existence for a knife that’s been designed to be carried and used to just be stashed away.

The sebenza is one of few knives I like with Damascus and that raindrop is truly stunning as you said! Wish I could justify that price amongst my other responsibilities in life. Thanks for giving it a proper life and blessing us with some clips of the knife in use!

If you still have this knife how is the Damascus holding up I’ve got a Sebenza 31 with raindrop Damascus coming in a couple day

We both took the long route to CRK, but it's like Rome at the time of it's greatness. All those paths eventually lead me to CRK. I have three lefty 21's with Damascus. Small ladder, Large Basketweave and a Large Knife Art Basketweave. They get carried and I think the performance is a hair less in the long term edge, bit damascus strops back really nice and sharpens easily. The problem is all the other CRK's that fight for pocket time. The only non CRK in the last year has been a cruwear pm2 that gets carried about once a week. I just found your channel today. Fantastic work!

What would you compare the cutting performance/ edge retention too? Looking to purchase one, but the s45 and Magnacut are performers. Will the Damascus be close?

I have a 31 ladder Damascus. Love the steel. I think it keeps a edge better than my s35vn blades.

I took the fast route lol i got a CRK for my 3rd knife, from a fox knives karambit -> CRKT Provoke first responder -> CRK Large Sebenza 21 Chad N. Raindrops with a unique graphic

I didn’t like Damascus until I purchased my small 21. Chris reeve just does something seriously special with these knives

100% yes. Me too, I like to carry and use my knives and I felt like Damascus was more showy than practiced but after getting this guy, I’m a firm believer that Damascus done right is a workhorse and CRK does it right

Just bought a large 21 with ladder damascus. It’s so good looking it’s not even possible. Bought it for 1000$ CAD. I’m pretty sire it’ll keep its value with time since it’s discontinued. I plan to use it lightly on the weekends. Does your still looking good since you made the video? How it held up?

It’s held up extremely well!!! I wouldn’t hesitate to put it through its paces which I have as a regular user.

@@these7seas thanks for the answer! Seeing how good the wear looks on your knife makes me feel less crazy to carry it. It's by far the most expensive knife I've ever purchased. Added a RGT timascus pocket clip on it and it's really an amazing looking knife. Thanks again

Does Damascus mark up bad, say like a dlc coating

I would say that it hides the wear a little better than dlc because of the variation in the pattern vs the flat consistent color of the dlc. Damascus looks better marked up in my opinion!

Fantastic! It doesn’t feel that much different from their s35vn in my day to day use. Takes a wicked sharp edge and holds it for a good amount.

Here is a man with way too much money. ; ) When I was into Sebenzas I went hard, damn the price.$ Thousands on some beautfy unique Sebs, The one I regret was the Gold Coin Bambo theme Ten made I had one. Now my only seb is a Lg 21 Raindrop Damascus. There are way more expensive knives,way way more expensive. BUT I think most knife guys would like a Seb prior to death
