Charlamagne tha God and Andrew Schulz react to Comedian Chris Rock's highly anticipated special 'Selective Outrage' which streamed live on Netflix and allowed the legendary comic to express his reaction to the infamous 2022 Oscars slap incident with Will Smith.
The Brilliant Idiots is a comedy podcast from the Loud Speakers Network featuring Charlamagne tha God, host of Power 105.1’s radio show, The Breakfast Club. Andrew Schulz is a world touring stand up comedian known for his work with MTV and
independently successful comedy projects, “4:4:1 - a comedy experience by Andrew Schulz” as well as “52 weeks of stand up.”
The Brilliant Idiots is a podcast just as unpredictable as its hosts. From power 105's hit radio show "The Breakfast Club" comes Charlamagne tha God and stand up comedy's rulebreaker, Andrew Schulz. From music, comedy, relationships, to pop culture, politics and current events, everything is on the table for analysis. But take what you hear with a grain of salt, because while their perspectives are often brilliant, they're liable to be idiotic too.

New York native and internationally touring stand-up, Andrew Schulz is known for his hilarious and unsafe comedy. He has starred in the sitcom BENDERS (now available on Netflix), can be seen in Amazon’s SNEAKY PETE, HBO’s CRASHING, and on MTV including GUY CODE and GIRL CODE.
In the podcast realm, Schulz can be heard on the wildly popular THE BRILLIANT IDIOTS - co-hosted by nationally syndicated radio and television personality Charlamagne tha God - the hilarious podcast FLAGRANT, and the film and TV analysis podcast WESTERBROS. He has made major appearances on The Joe Rogan Experience, Bert Kreischer’s BERTCAST, Joey “coco” Diaz The Chuch of What’s Happening Now. He has even done solo interviews with the likes of Lil Duval and many others.
Andrew’s online presence has touched hundreds of millions of people
across the globe and his unconventionally funny approach to the comedy world has launched him into stardom. His shows Dropping In and Inside Jokes will rack up hundreds of thousands of views weekly. Nothing is off limits for Schulz, from sex to race, and even the occasional audience heckler roast, Andrew is hungry to be the best. He can be seen in New York City performing regularly at New York Comedy Club and the Comedy Cellar.

And even fucking up the joke part, Will assaulted a man live and went back to his seat and Did not leave even when allegedly was asked to, so even if Chris mubbled, whispered his joke, he was on his right to do so, you could hear the year long anger he had in him and he let it all out.

I actually like that you saw him stumble on that joke. It's relatable. They should put out the live, not some edited version. We get to see how incredibly well he handled it and to see that comedians are human like the rest of us and fuck up from time to time. He stumbled and recovered pretty much right away. It was a thing of beauty to see. Why would you want to keep that from the world? Perceived perfection isn't always better.

He chose not to because now he’s the better man who took the high road. They’re still going to criticize him for what he did say, like all that stuff about Jada cheating, but that’s all stuff they’ve admitted to. If you willingly put stuff on the internet or in the public sphere, it’s all fair game. Especially if it’s something you chose to do. The GI Jane was a softball joke too. I wasn’t a fan because it was easy. Surface level stuff. Beyond that, if Will Smith was some random black West Philly guy, he’d be in prison right now. I don’t know why it was up to Chris Rock to press charges. The police have a video of a crime. They have just cause. They could have waited until after the show and arrested Will. That’s Hollywood privilege.

Comedians getting personal about themselves definitely has been a thing. Richard Pryor’s most notable special was just that! Kevin’s “Laugh At My Pain”. Eddie would talk about his family a lot but idk if it was all too personal.

Andrew taking the noble high road when it comes to judging the specials or writing of other comedians is almost believable. Except, I still specifically remember all his cheap shots at Dave Chappelle, his specials, writing, and jokes after more than one special since his return. So you're all high and noble until the GOAT is being mentioned and "some" can't help but scramble for clout. From as far away from you as Egypt 🇪🇬, I can still see right through your thin act Shulz.. 👀 All the way from the motherland bisch 😂

I thought the way he ended the special might have been super clever. He closed and then Kanye played over the credits. After his bit about Michael Jackson vs. R Kelly and the the title being Selective Outrage, that was a pretty cool open-ended challenge to the audience, I thought. Whether it offended you or not, the challenge is to check your other beliefs to see if you feel the opposite about someone else in a similar situation.
