I can only recommend you to block those people, look for others to follow bc it might seem to you like half of that fandom acts that way, when it isn’t the case - I’ve only seen positive reactions :)) I’d also unfollow those who interact with „fans“ like these.. if it’s Stan twitter then ignorance is bliss honestly

@@isas.5667 Oh, I know. I don't do twitter (or pretty much any other social media), and I don't follow them (I follow almost no one). It's just sometimes unavoidable to hear about it secondhand when it gets big enough to leak over into being mentioned elsewhere. I don't engage in it other than occasionally reminding people not to respond to it or feed the negativity. Yeah, it's definitely a minority -- I wanted to make sure to mention that in my original note because I'm opposed to generalizing entire groups of people based on the bad behavior of small but loud minorities within them. I know the large majority of fans in all fandoms are decently behaved and non-obsessive, and I hate when the ugly minority in any fandom makes their group look bad to people outside. (I find it incredibly frustrating in this fandom -- including when they think they're "protecting" on stan twt -- and I know people in other fandoms feel the same. And the poor multistans having to hear it from multiple sides...). I avoid it all as much as possible, for the sake of my sanity. 😄

Well, as a teacher here, This is one of my three rules in class. Respect, safety and accuracy. But even if they don't respect me, I'll respect them for their choices. Everyone gets oppurtunities to learn:) This is also mandatory in our studies to become a teacher.
