Probably one of the best gravel events in the UK. The Dirty Reiver is now in its 9th year as the UK’s biggest gravel event. Based in and around Kielder Forest in the English/Scottish Borders the event makes use of the extensive gravel trail network across the area. With hundreds of km of tracks to choose from riders always have new vistas to explore.
Many riders return year on year to ride this unique area around the borders, the gravel is second to non and the three distances ensure that everyone is included.

Looked like a nice day out. Nice and steady, long enough to get warmed up but not far enough to strain anything. Hope your recovery is going well and you're getting stronger all round, good stuff mate.

Biggest perhaps but not best. Plenty of better, more challenging events out there or at least on a par.

@@ChrisHallRides I've done a few Glorious Gravel rides in Chilterns, Cotswolds and Peak District. Chilterns was tough even in warmer weather due to the mud. Peak District was the most hilly. The Cotswold Cross event was by far the most challenging - the one event where MTBs probably had the upper hand due to the extreme trail conditions and limited time on tarmac. Shorter distances than the DR but certainly more challenging terrain. I'll be doing the 140k Hell of the North Cotswolds in September - which is an event in its 40th year, so must be doing something right!
