I'm so glad someone is finally talking about max hand speed at the right hip! I've been asking about this for a long time, yet no one else teaches it except for you Chris and Scratch Golf. THANK YOU! Can you please make a video on HOW to implement this as a feeling/swing thought?

Man.. that swing path on the upward swing was the one buzzing me for months! Thank you for clearing it up for me. So very zeroed out path may actually result in a out to in path.

Great video Chris. Thank you. Interestingly, I have an Aunty who played in LPGA tournaments in Australia, Europe and America who gave me a simple, yet effective thought process when addressing the tee with driver in hand. As I was overly rigid. She simply said to imagine I was busting for a wee and to be jiggling a bit as if I was trying to suppress the thought. Not only did it keep my body busy it also switched off the overthinking. The results were increased distance and accuracy.

@@ChrisRyanGolf It was also nearly 30 years ago. I don’t jiggle as much as back then however it’s always in my mind. Another one for me to keep the brain from taking over is when I’m in a group of people I like and keep a conversation going until address. Then pause it and continue the chat after the shot. Still hitting the ball as far, or possibly further which I put down to the incremental gains drivers have had with each model release. Also, a question for you as I’ve played with Taylormade woods and irons for most of my adult life (wedges I tend to try others) and I can’t shape the Stealth Drivers as much as anyone prior. Not even the local rep can explain why. Do you experience this? I can still get a slight draw or fade when I want it, just not as much as sometimes I’d like. 🤔

@@jessecooper9795 I got this fantastic advice nearly 30 years ago. Whilst being 50 now I don’t jiggle as much anymore however when I’m playing with a group I’ve never played with I occasionally get a comment that the next toilet is only a couple of holes away.

Very helpful. Correct me if I am wrong with respect to the last “correction” (hitting up but a touch to the right) - this is not the same as merely opening the face so it looks like the ball would set off to the right. It’s the arc of the swing plane that has to shift in that direction which will then propel the ball forward straight(er) towards your target. . .
@ChrisRyanGolf
@ChrisRyanGolf 10 ай бұрын
Yes spot on, not to do with where the club face points but to do with the direction of the swing adds you say

Really useful video. I certainly know I have become too static over the ball but didn’t realise a little bit of athletic movement could make a positive impact on the swing. The thought of hitting up to the right I think will also be beneficial.

Great video, you obviously both are craftsmen in your trade of teach golf swings. And yet, although this is brilliant for low HCers, based on some of the guys I play with on HCs from 15 upwards, I can’t help thinking this would confuse the heck out of them and bring their game backwards. Just a bit of positive feed back not criticism. And thank you for the video, quality stuff!

Does the hand speed drill apply only to drivers (on a tee) ? Maybe a stupid question but some teachers on youtube believe in compressing irons differently I.e Mark Crossfield cheers. Great content as always Chris.
@ChrisRyanGolf

Yeah the release is slightly different with different clubs, more compression with iron, shaft more neutral with driver but the hands will peak at about that same point with all clubs
