Jung discusses Christ, the Anti-Christ, and the concepts of Good and Evil in psychological (not theological) terms, describing their symbolism and significance in the human psyche.

There are glimpses of Christ dealing with his shadow. One example is when satan tempts him during his desert sojourn. Most read it as temptation coming from an outside force, but I believe the temptation came from within.

It was more like realization. If we sell ourselves to the material world, lie and manipulate, we can rule the world and have 'everything' beneath our feet. As you know the rulers of this world are pure Satanists (materialists). I understood this when I was reading this passage when I was a kid. Using my own logic. You are right. It comes from within. Story of a Jesus is the story of us all. Never fading truth. Immortal.

Many thanks for access. Jung seems to me to be correct because he never ceased but only spoke to the soul. In my judgement its impossible to do away with Jung s revealed truth. Whatever else is on the picture, jungs creative, artistic, symbolic, relational, other is indispensable to the the explanation of life and its patterns. I've followed amd met many a Guru, faith, tradition, and culture. They never escape this process. No individual does. Whatever else may be true, this seems to me to be an accurate account of our suffering, love and sacrifice. Been reading the brilliant Jung and he’s helping me to process trauma through dreams . Dreams help us to process and purge trauma memories . I’m finding that until we process trauma (not solely through rationalizing it but through the body and emotions) we will be stuck in current endeavors . Success seems to want healing to happen first . Maybe to clear the focus for the tasks of that success ?

I have long believed that dreams help us work out what is conflicted between our conscious an unconscious selves. It makes sense to me that past traumas would show up in the drama of our dreams. Without the help of a Jungian therapist how do we best enhance the dream experience that so many of us have nightly?

At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I am rising to do the work of a human being. What do I have to complain about, if I’m going to do what I was born for-the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?” - But it’s nicer here … So were you born to feel “nice”? Instead of doing things and experiencing them? Don’t you see the plants, the birds, the ants and spiders and bees going about their individual tasks, putting the world in order, as best they can? And you’re not willing to do your job as a human being? Why aren’t you running to do what your nature demands? - But we have to sleep sometime… Agreed. But nature set a limit on that - as it did on eating and drinking. And you’re over the limit. You’ve had more than enough of that. But not of working. There’s still more of that to do. You don’t love yourself enough. For if you did, you’d love your nature too, and what it demands of you. People who love what they do wear themselves down doing it, they even forget to wash or eat. Do you have less respect for your own nature than the engraver does for engraving, the dancer for the dance, the miser for money or the social climber for status? When they’re really possessed by what they do, they’d rather stop eating and sleeping than give up practicing their arts. Is not then your labor in the world just as worthy of respect and worth your effort? (Book 5, Paragraph 1) Marcus Aurelius The stoic philosopher pointing towards the need to arise morning. And he was writting to himself without an eye for any other.

instead of words like "gpod" and "bad" I prefer life affirming or life negating. This way it is less ambiguous. And here, "life-affirming" means all that heals life, all that nurtures life, all that protects life, all that celebrates life, all that is gentle to life, all that allows life to live, for children to explore, for artists to create, for earth to thrive, for life to learn without reserve, for people to choose, to nurture body, mind and soul of all. good and bad have become all to synonymous with conformity and rebellion--even when rebellion is life affirming and conformity, life negating.
@funkchurches2 жыл бұрын
This is a monumental contribution. It takes a “spiritual” vision, born of learned wisdom, to see life -affirmation correctly. Those who unconsciously pursue life affirmation most often do not see that their life is not affirmed in any other way than by their own ignorant consciousness. The inability to see and accept the salvation of paradox leaves us blind to destruction.

GVSH... the most important thing, G, is knowing that that you don't know. It's the 1st step on the path of wisdom. Suspending judgement helps with clearing the mind. Remaining there, for as long as possible, is the meditative state. There will always be more to add or subtract from any subject. Re-play, re-listen, re-read, re-learn. Keep going. Your doing fine. You've begun. Always, a beginner. I've heard said, that you just get going, and then you die. Not living to die, but dieing to live, and love, and learn, is the great state. The Grace state. Also, the "grey" state. Nothing's ever finniished. Everything's up for grabs. Grasp lightly, gently. We're all compelled to learn. Learning how to learn, is the key that unlocks the door to "in-formation"...

Talk of synchronicity. Just a couple of days ago read about symmetry in universe necessitating that there be negative time just as for charge, mass, etc. Unfortunately for Hindus, who have not understood this concept of yin and yang and myself being hampered by the same, when heard this audio, realised that just as India's good days have arrived with nature bestowing light energy to one leader who has ascended to the top in 2014, the same process also imbued an equal but opposite dark energy to another individual. And just because of that blind spot mentioned above the Hindus are only fanning the flame of destruction of india and enslavement of hindus in that latter individual, and being very very intimately privy to the existence and rise to ascendancy of power in that Individual, and only because of the world record shattering arrogance of Hindus themselves, I can divine without stint or measure that this Individual will prevail and hence His goal too.

And it has four quadrants representative of the whole self described by Jung: persona, unconscious, shadow and anima/animus.
@SiniAnimations3 жыл бұрын
As much as I like Jung and even agree with view of psychological opposites, I think a lot of his meditations on evil are a semantic misunderstanding. A christian will say that evil is the perversion of something good. For example gluttony is over-consuming as opposed to consuming appropriate amounts. The former occurs because the impulse for the latter is poorly integrated. In the same way Jung would have probably conceded that evil occurs when the shadow isn't voluntarily confronted and continually integrated. That was most likely his reason for writing this to begin with, after all. Good and evil in the christian sense are asymmetrical concepts because they relate to the opposites differently, namely as balance and imbalance of them.
@LiMitZplus2 жыл бұрын
Jung also saw the opposites as asymmetrical
@jeanettesdaughter2 жыл бұрын
Circuitous reasoning that. It’s simpler to know evil as the absence of good rather than the opposite. The shadow isn’t evil , it’s that which is not illuminated, the dark side of the moon as it were. But the moon is a sphere not a two dimensional figure. We are each more than one thing, more than one side. Christians or rather the Church have so demonized the shadow that we fear to face it. But Christ is no respecter of churches. Be mindful of what is, the whole Self. Face the shadow, illuminate him and he is gone- get Thee behind!

Do you think by practicing Buddhist type meditation practices ie mindfulness practice,you can get in touch with your shadow become more aware of your inner self, whatever that really means. I think modern life does get in the way of being mindful being in the moment, being in the here and now, as opposed to what seems to happen most of the time. You are here and now in your body, but the mind is usually somewhere else thinking about other things, millions of miles away

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness..." 2 Cor.11:14-15 "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world...." 1 John 4:1 Characteristics of Satan 1. Created by God, but not equal to God. (Proverbs 16:4) 2. Defies God and despises truth. (John 8:44) 3. Was given limited power. (Job 1:8-12) 4. Commands a hierarchy of demons. (Eph. 6:10-12) 5. Masquerades as "an angel of light." (2 Cor. 11:14-15) 6. Plans to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) 7. Rules the masses outside God’s protection. (Eph. 2:1-3) 8. Keeps seeking an "opportune time" to tempt us. (Luke 4:13) 9. Tries to hide the actual truth about our God. (2 Cor. 4:3-4) 10. Offers counterfeit promises he can't fulfill. (Gen. 3:4-5) 11. Twists Scriptures to fit his purposes. (Gen. 3:1-5) 12. Will suffer the fate he deserves. (Revelation 20:10) “...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day.... "Stand therefore, having girded your waist with [God's] TRUTH, having put on the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of PEACE; above all, taking the shield of FAITH with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD of GOD; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints." Ephesians 6:10-17 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 "Therefore submit to God.' Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands [REPENT], you sinners; and purify your hearts.... Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:7:10 “...do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place [lest you give a foothold] to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." 1 Revelation 12:11

Perfection cannot be complete and vice versa. Jesus had to die here. Is one reason that he will bring heaven down?

Hopefully you know basic Greek terms. Apparently the reader has never met them before

It’s ironic, isn’t it, that you insult me for not having “met” Greek terms, when it’s obvious that you don’t even “know” basic English. Thanks for the laugh you dumbass.

Thank you for the correction. You're absolutely correct. I was insulting the quality of your reading not your intelligence. I should have been more clear. It should have read: the reader has never read them before . It's hilarious how often I make mistakes like that. I could certainly improve. I hope you can forgive me for being such a dumbaas.

This brings to reality bear on Aristotlean syllogism, or syllogistic reasoning, where A is A only, and cannot be B, because these two are both together and separate. Thank goodness I have the complete process of this axiomatic formulation which in its essence is mathematical and therefore, absolute, and an abstraction of reality. Look up the word [ Translate, in Mariam Webster's dictionary.] meaning sending our complaints as evil, or error, into Heaven and here is vanishes.

A equals A expresses that our individual selves are indivisible, that we are an entire world unto ourselves (that each of us is a microcosm), that what we believe means something. This Christ can be used as a symbol of ourself in order to better strive for perfection. Christ is our best guide.

@Don Jon Im not sure how one can be grounded in Christ unless you mean being comitted to an ideal you feel Christ represents. In this case you would need to understand what Christ is, past a historical figure, which I doubt many Christians do.
@a-rod15274 жыл бұрын
@Don Jon One is really going out on a limb to say Jesus was anything other than man. Man is the highest (and perhaps lowest) being we know of concretely. Maybe you gain a sense of security believing you have favor with God, it certainly invigorates life.
@a-rod15274 жыл бұрын
@Don Jon I don't think a line of cocaine would suffice for a trip to vegas. If Christ gives you serenity then by all means friend. I talk to would be Christians nearly every day and hear about how their dying slowly in their own lives so perhaps something (or a great many things) is being lost in translation, which I'll add here was the whole reason for the very first comment I made on this thread.

I think it’s a metaphor for self-control. Control the self or let the self be controlled. The Devil is always waiting to jump at the chance to control the untended self. The unconscious is controlled by the devil because it is not attended to by the mind.

The contents are surely interesting, but what an apalling way of reading! I mean, I simply cannot stand such lack of beauty. Horribly monotony. I would like to read the text, because it interests me, but this reader just kills it. Shame!
