What would happen if a Christian apologist (and his 10-year old son) visited a mosque? You're about to find out. I had a wonderful meal and tour with my new Muslim friends at the mosque near where I live in southern Orange County. After a brief tour, I sat down with the imam and was able to ask him some questions about his faith, parenting, experience in America, impressions of Christians and more. Let us know what you think! And do you want more videos like this? What would you do differently if you were me? Thanks, Sean.

Oh Sean, this interview should be a series because it really doesn't teach a non Muslim much about Islam!! As an ex Muslim and someone who has been studying a slam and Christianity for many years and as an almost 40 years being a Christian, the more I study Islam the more I am convinced of being a Christian!! Praise God that He called my name and praise God for giving me the courage to follow His voice!! Jesus said my sheep knows my voice!!

Hi Sean, from South Africa, if possible I would ask if you could reach out to Pastor Rudolph Boshoff of Ad Lucem Ministries here in South Africa. He is a great biblical scholar but also a regular debater of some of the top Muslims in South Africa. He is very respectful to Muslims and has good relationships with those he debates. He has written a number of scholarly articles on his website. Thanks for a fantastic channel. André from South Africa

This is a ridiculous dumb video under the false pretense of learning more about Islam ... from liars .. which all Imams are. Only a fool ... believes AL Lah of Muslims, Quran, Sunnah, Mecca & Arabia ... is ... God of Jews & Christians, Bible, Jerusalem ... and is NOT Satanism. Clearly violent, racist & pagan Arabs in the early 600's copied & corrupted teachings from the Torah & Gospels ... for their gods & idols .. trying to get converts from the Jews & Christians ... failed and fled to Mecca ... to uses this religion of lies, deceit, fear & hatred ... to conquer ... weaker people ... then spread throughout the world ... until somebody stronger stops them. It's clearly satanism ... and a religion ... for dictators, Regimes, monarchies, criminals & terrorists ... which is why the Muslim world has and always will be divided ...especially when a Muslim can become an infidel to be conquered ... if you are considered a hyporite or has done wrong to another Muslim. And sadly most of the free civilized world ... are now moron Humanist Liberals ...adored & loved by ... dictarors, regimes, monarchies, criminals & terrorists ... for their weakness & stupidity..

Have you seen John MacArthur video on the Mahdi (Islamic eschatology) - it shows how the Jesus (isa) in their eschatology is the exact description of the false prophet of revelation, and the beast they state as the Mahdi who is their messiah! Revelation describing Jesus return - the sources in Islam state that is the Dajjal (their antichrist) - they call evil good, and good evil….. One thing about Arabic culture is that their hospitality is second to none. Islam itself is interesting, very works based. It is not a religion of peace however as Muhammad does instruct his followers to not be friends with infidels like Christians, Jews and others. Also the character of their god is completely different from God of the Bible and they deny that God has a son. We certainly do not worship the same God.

Sean, definitely i would speak to David Wood over Sam Shamoun. Sam has an incredible memory for recall of verses from the Qu’ran but i think his approach is not of love and it can be extremely antagonistic. I know people often will say that DW can be, but he is reactionary only when Islamists will be very much threatening of others. He always is respectful to any Muslims who are respectful toward him. His knowledge is fantastic. Andy (Bannister) is great obviously too - i am sure i saw something you guys collaborated on in a video before. I met him here in Scotland a few months ago at one of the bible colleges here. I recently read the Qur’an twice and had been studying a lot of Sunni Hadith and was so horrified at what i read direct from their sources. This is going to be a great conversation i am sure. @@yeahnothx-e9l Why would the behavior of certain individuals stop you from seeking the truth? Are Christians followers of Sam Shamoun or David Wood? There are several ways to defend a religion, each with its own methods and focus areas. Here are some of the main approaches: 1. Apologetics: The practice of defending a faith through reasoned arguments and evidence. This can include philosophical, historical, scientific, and moral reasoning. 2. Polemics: The practice of challenging and critiquing other belief systems or ideologies. This often involves a more confrontational approach than apologetics. 3 Theological Defense: Using theological doctrines and interpretations of sacred texts to defend religious beliefs and practices. Philosophical Defense, Historical Defense, Moral Defense, etc… Sam’s method is polemics, which is what the Islam is based on. Islam is polemics against Christianity. We need someone like him to address this aspect because there are millions like him on the other side. However, while his approach might be too harsh, we can't deny he's doing an amazing job. Personally, I prefer Jay Smith’s method.

In another instance, he said that the Islamic religion encourages fostering interfaith relationships. Does this seem to align with the teachings of Islam? I agree that these are desirable/attractive characteristics, but do the Islamic writings support the idea of Allah possessing these traits? This Muslim is not being honest, or perhaps he doesn't really know what his religion teaches. The Quran and the Hadith makes it very clear.. "Sahih Bukhari [52:260] "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him. " "Quran [4:89] "They wish that you should disbelieve as they disbelieve, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of God; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper." There are more verses that teach to turn back those who leave Islam or kill them.

Correct. He first warned about being asked questions of faith, and then he avoided any mention the sharia. They are permitted to lie and deceive non-believers, and the do it like professionals. Once you know enough about this cult you see immediately how they all lie. It was one of my first shocks when learning about it. They are not permitted to discuss sharia at all with non-believers. Because it is too embarrassing. The entire cult is lies wrapped in threats.

I love almost everything Sean does. He is a blessing to the Christian community in almost every way. I'm only left with some general overall questions about the ultimate purpose of this of informational experience. I see the 'love your neighbour as yourself" at play here, and that is beautiful. What I'm not feeling is that a non-believer of a demonstrably false religion has been given a full platform to persuade folks about his belief. As an apologies, I would have appreciated more of a neutral ground meeting and discussing your beliefs. I'm not sure what the ultimate goal of this interview was? Dr. Nabeel Qureshi would have had a similarly friendly discussion with a muslim (though honestly, many muslims celebrated his death because he was considered a blasphemer) but he would have preached the gospel and or delivered a powerful apologetic for the Christian faith. There are so many issues with the Quran and it was reading the bible vs. the Quran that made him realize the Quran is so deeply flawed. Further, it is remarkable that a muslim demanded Sean's questions in advance. A Christian would never need that in any way whatsoever. Also, Muslims do not believe Jesus was crucified on the cross, they believe he 'swooned' and faked a death. Not this 'elevation.' That's a new false teaching. It's almost like Sean is trying to 'build bridges' with the Muslim community but my question is, to what end? What are you exposing your son to in this regard? There's much you can learn about all faiths by just visiting a Christian bookstore (though you have to be wary of those places these days.). Anyway, I just am left wondering where this series goes next? Not being critical or an armchair quarterback but just truly asking questions. Love you dude, you are still doing amazing things!

Only Satan would say an Arab thief & Liar, with multiple wives & sex slaves .. is greater than Moses ... & ... Jesus born of a virgin, perfect & pure and did things only God can do. Of course it does. But Islam still hurts many people, and keeps them from knowing and trusting his boundless love, which is the thing that sets free and allows peace and enjoyment of good works. Sean, Jay Smith, and his team have done a great job of uncovering many truths about Islam: The Book, the Man & the Place are 3 issues that they bring up. Did the prophet live anywhere close to Mecca or did he live in Petra or Jerusalem? Did Mecca even exist when Mohammad was supposed to live? Do we have a Qur'an that was composed anytime close to when Mohammad was supposed to have been alive? The Qur'an is supposed to be unchanged since Allah provided it. But Jay has a colleague, who has found about 30 different versions of the Arabic Qur'an, with about 90,000 differences in them. Unchanged? I look forward to your providing the truth about Islam in future podcasts.

I appreciated hearing this interview with an articulate, contemporary imam. I have no idea whether his "brand" of Islam is valid, orthodox, reformed or whatever. I like the man; I like his intellect; I like his wisdom (apart from his choice of faiths---which, given his heritage, is totally understandable). What I would love to hear (if a followup is done) is how, as a modern Western Muslim, he views the predominant portrayal of Allah, the Prophet, the Q'uran and the role of Muslims vis a vis "infidels" of another faith, e.g., Christianity or Judaism, we Westerners consistently get from the Arab world, in particular vis a vis Israel. Would be a very interesting take, I'm sure. Thanx, Sean.

I know Islam pretty well, having lived many years as a missionary in India. I believe that it is a massive deception. However at the same time when I listen to this Imam I can clearly see an enormous attraction to this faith. Most Churches cannot offer the security, stability, and order that Islam demonstrates here. The paradox is that we as Christians ought to be providing a much better version of this order. In the EU where I live "christian" society is complete chaos. Many people are converting to Islam to find security and order. The caricature of Islam being all radical Jihadists is not a viewpoint that we need to be taking seriously, these people are not like that. They do have the potential to become radicalised however. In the meantime it is good to have relationships with such people, many of them are like Cornelius who was a righteous man accepted by God.(Acts 10) Cornelius was able to proceed from Judaism to faith in Christ. In like manner we should be seeking to befriend these people and not shun them, as Peter was instructed in his vision. Well done Sean for this interview.

I don’t know a ton about being Muslim. But I think as a Christian what trips me up most is do they have a timeline the way that Christianity does? It sounds like since they were so open to kind of this - all religions are fine to be connected to that the world is eternal. Which is so crazy to me because “the signs of the times” are so clear to me. Maybe it’s just because I was born and raised Christian and never left. He was super nice and this helps me in my own kind of attitude like he said as a lot of people in America see Muslims as extremist. I met a Christian friend recently whose husband is Muslim and he seems very nice like this guy and totally not what I had planted in my head from other Christians. It’s too bad because we are supposed to share the gospel and not be afraid and yet many Christians are controlled by fear.

Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! He rejects the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin. Those facts alone put him far, far away from "balanced." He diametrically opposed to you in every way, but either chooses to hide that or doesn't care enough about you to speak honestly. Yeah, he's a nice guy. I'd have a beer with him and chat about life, certainly, but that is forbidden per his faith. There are a lot of "nice" people out there. It's possible he is a secular/Americanized version of a Muslim. To know what a religion truly teaches, you have to go to the source documents. You might as well ask the same kinds of questions about Christians: how can Christianity produce Christians who on the one hand champion gay marriage and abortion rights and on the other hand produce Christians who say marriage is between one man and one woman only and babies are humans beings worthy of life and protection? Gotta go back to the source. People will always emphasize different things they prefer, and in America as a minority group, it doesn't work well to hold radical Islamic views. Kind of like Christianity vs. so-called "progressive Christianity". That's why it's hard to view this video with much more reaction than a "hmmm.... interesting." Imagine if a random Muslim KZfaqr decides to go to a Christian "church" and interview the pastor. You've got so many with that name from which to choose! Roman Catholic? Presbyterian? Lutheran? Episcopalian? Baptist? Southern Baptist? Assemblies of God? Methodist? Non-denominational? Vinyard? United Church of Christ? Heck, even Mormons would throw their hat into that mix! And that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. Depending on which one you talked to, you might think that Jesus was pro-gay marriage and abortion. And if you talked to another, you'd think he taught marriage is only between one man and one women for a lifetime and babies in the womb are to be protected and cherished. And if you talked to another you'd think God used to be a man but worked his way up to Godhood and got his own universe. So, talking to "an Imam" is like talking to "a Christian pastor." Which one? From where? How do the teachings line up with the sacred text? That's why my thought is, to learn what a religion TRULY is, you have to go back to their foundational text(s) and read what is taught there. Humans will always emphasize certain aspects over others, so you have to go straight to the source, read it, and ponder what it says and what that means.

@@sidwhiting665 if you are knowledgeable of scripture and strong in your faith you desire to evangelize other “religions”. Christianity is not a religion. It’s about following a man that paid the price that you owed. A lot of people’s fault is following people and teachings from man instead of being filled with the Holy Spirit and allowing him to guide and teach you. Psalm 97:10 “Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked". I attempted to debate at a LDS church. Friday prayers are only for men, no women allowed. So it’s different from the Sunday service

This was a great example of reaching out to others. While I remain skeptical, I am beginning to think parents and teachers of all faiths are realizing the competition for the minds of our children. While I am not convinced the Quran holds any truth, we need to accept that we can no longer keep ourselves distant from the different faiths and cultures around us. Parents can no longer depend on the Church to spiritually raise their children. We must prioritize the spiritual upbringing of our children (our personal relationships with God being a huge part of that). Otherwise, the world will be more than glad to do it.

I find the Quran holds much truth. Because I read it and understand it. Brock Grayson compared Quran to Bible and comes to understand that Quran is the truth. It came to affirm Moses and Jesus. Reject Paul. Reading Quran makes it self evident that God is the speaker. Not man. 💯✅✅✅

"women go" Do you mean after death? Well, their paradise of porn is centred around a teenage boy's sexual fantasy, where women become mere playthings and have to compete with all the synthetic female dolls and little boys supplied by their moon god.

They pray in the overflow room mentioned at the start in the tour. So I guess if there's too many men, then the women will be outside and the men will be in the overflow room, but if there's no overflow then the women can use the room. The women also aren't allowed in the mosque if menstruating and can not touch their "holy" book either until they stop bleeding.

@@sometimesawful "if menstruating" Yes, and this is why muhammed described them as deficient in religion. He also described them as deficient in intellect. He also says they are the majority in hell. (e.g. Sahih al-Bukhari 304).

@@0786AHA if Avery was arguing from a place of ignorance then why don't the sheiks refute him or answer any of his questions? Because they know how he will make your prophet look like the false prophet that he is. As for his Justin Martyr refuted Muhammed, yes, Martyr could have refuted Muhammed centuries earlier by Muhammed saying something that had already been refuted. Do you have ANY critical thinking skills? Oh wait, you rely on your sheikh to tell you what to think, I forgot. If you look at the Quran, it says that the Torah and the Gospels are from Allah, they are Allah's words. And it also says that Allah's words cannot be corrupted ever. If you have any critical thinking skills, you would see that this shows that the Quran is self defeating. Because the Bible cannot be corrupted and it contradicts the Quran. The creator of the universe cannot contradict himself, and therefore, because you would have to deny the Quran to say the Quran is Allah's revelation, the Quran would have to be false and the Bible would stand strong against an attack of corruption from Muslims. This is just one instance of cognitive bias that Muslims need to understand. Why do daii run from Bob and ran from Avery, David Wood at speaker's corner, and try to attack someone who looks like they are ignorant of Islam? Because these Christians know Polemics against Islam as well as Apologetics fir Christianity.

@@0786AHA also, Avery has been disciples by the likes of Sam Shamoun and David Wood. David Wood helped a Muslim come to Christianity, and then they (Nabeel and David) developed some great stuff together to talk about Islam with defenders of it. I would say he is asking from a place of knowledge.

I love this conversation! Some of the comments here are really sad. To critics of the Quran, you realize similar things can be said of the Old Testament? Not all Muslims are the same. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world, and they are moderates. As Christians we have serious disagreements with Muslim doctrine, but there is no need to disparage them.
