One of the big reasons for avoiding sex while dating is proper discernment. Sex will emotionally cling you to them, cloud your proper discernment of whether or not they will be a good wife to you. This is why a lot of marriages fail. After marriage, you have ALREADY discerned the facts on whether she will be a good wife, and will be loyal to you.

Thank you! I've been preaching this message about the Hook-Up Culture for years, primarily because I've seen too many people get "trapped" in marriages and long term relationships, when they should've broke it off sooner than later. But because they're so enslaved by their own lust and desire for sex, they ignore all the red flags. And even when the walls come crashing in, they never want to blame themselves. It's always the other person's fault.

Marriage should be like a cake 🎂. *The baked layers* are the foundation of the relationship; _love, friendship, faith, culture, character, conflict resolution and communication._ *The frosting* are the shared activities & experiences; _vacations, hobbies, children, friends & family experiences, faith bonding experiences, etc._ *The decorative icing and ornaments* on top; _intimacy and sex._ The cake can only be made in that order. Sex is important, but it's the demonstration of the words "I love you."

I would definitely include intimacy & sex WITH love together in the foundation. Its literally a bonding ritual between a couple and equally important; not be moved to the outskirts of the relationship. Sex is designed to glue ppl together. Which is why it shouldnt be abused or missed used as it has in these promiscuous times.

Sounds kinda like a list of YOUR priorities. An agnostic, for example, will probably not have much use of "faith", the other can be hardcore christian or agnosic, won't matter much. And i don't think anything anywhere near a majority would chose great vacations over great sex. If you have great sex, you don't need a vacation to let go of the stress...
@deeendee7162
@deeendee7162 9 ай бұрын
@@zayinseven7923 I would however say that sex still belongs in the frosting; you can have a good relationship without sex. You'd rather have it, but you CAN go without it. A relationship without friendship and love though; Those are what's known as doomed... But yes, it's still definitely above vacations! ;) Let's call it the top layer of the foundation ;)

I it’s just weird when people try to make me feel bad about it you could literally sleep with 5000 people and I wouldn’t care I don’t want to sleep with someone that sleeps at 5000 people or hundreds of people but I don’t really have any interest in sleeping with anyone and I’m not attractive so no one is like throwing themselves at me And if they are I wouldn’t say throwing themselves if they are it’s like drunk people which is normal and I just say no it’s not a big deal.

You don't even have to take religion out of it. The statistics show that people who wait to have sex and don't live together before marriage have a higher success rate in marriage. It also turns out that MOST of the people in these statistics are practicing Christian's. If non-religious people want successful marriages, they don't necessarily need to become Christian, they just need follow what the Christian's are NOT doing before marriage.

Let’s put this in a simple example there are 2 relationships. One with the guy gets sex nonstop before marriage and after marriage the guy gets no sex. The second guy who is virgin and is dating a virgin spending time together getting to know each other no sex just activities finding common interests and get married has sex then some time after no sex. Which relationship do you think will die out first?! The one with nonstop sex because that is what the whole relationship is basically based on with the other one is nonsexual memories and experiences! They didn’t have sex for a long time which made it more special and at the same time if it is gone they still have a lot of stuff to do together still because it isn’t as a big part of their lives compared to the first couple!

8:39 He provided secular data, and they did not want to accept it. He then mentioned that based on the word of God, it seems that the data supports what scripture emphasizes about sexual intimacy before marriage. When he added this, he was still rejected. In other words, he gave a position that was secular, and they still did not like the information. No matter which angle he gives, they will reject it because they do not like what it states about their actions. Edit 9/24/23 A. 5:22 Her: "Do you think that because that statistic of people who probably are willing are going to wait till marriage to have s(e)x or don't live together until they're married tends to be more people of religion, which includes divorce is a sin, right? So, I think that would skew the statistic a bit." 7:19 Brian: "I would encourage you when it comes to having s(e)x before marriage to try to make a secular argument because not everyone is religious, so not everybody subscribes to God's word." B. The reason that Brian shared this is due to potential rejections of the Christian guest using scripture, although the Christian guest started with data. Brian is sharing this due to the current reaction in this video, along with other videos where the same discussions take place. The point the Christian guest is trying to make is that when you place the marriage/s(e)x on biblical principles (basically something greater than your own temporary feelings), you have a greater chance of having a long-lasting bond. In reverse, because people tend to place what they want in the moment above everything else, they tend to create unhealthy bonds. C. "My happiness" is putting one person's temporary feelings above everything else. After all, happiness and feelings change like the wind. Besides, your husband or wife isn't responsible for your happiness. Staying together does not mean that the people are "unhappy." A more logical conclusion is that they take their vows more seriously than someone who would instantly leave because "I am not happy." D. 9:50 At this time marker, she highlighted that her earlier point was not explained well. Because it left room for misinterpretation, she said that the Christian guest misinterpreted her position.

Marriage material is someone who does not purposely raise their chances for divorce. Sexual relationships outside of someone's spouse automatically and exponentially raise the chance for divorce. Sex in general, makes relationships look better than they may be. Statistically, you are able to overlook bothersome things when having sex. It causes people to marry when they shouldn't and helps spouses work through things when they need to. Also a woman who simply watches porn has a higher chance of divorce than even a man who watches porn. Nevermind someone who was a porn star.

Correlation and causation, with humans being an unreliable source. That said, studies can help you fallow trends, which often are associated with or part of the truth. The goal is to always be skeptical and test often for as many controls as possible, hoping to get a better understanding. Saying statistics are useless, would be disingenuous, but they aren’t inherently gospel or even well done studies. I’ll use the “horse girl fallacy” with a study claiming women whom owned horses tended to live long, but what the studies didn’t account for was that only wealthy women could afford to have many horses, with the upper class having greater access to quality healthcare.

Whether to believe in religion or not the key factor remains the same. Sex before marriage lowers your chances of a successful LTR. He is right that it clouds our judgment of one another which in return causes the quick open and end relationships

The problem with "try to make a secular argument..." is that if you take God out then ALL you have left is evolutionary approach which is: "if it feels good, do it". The whole mess we are in is because Adults behave like toddlers and only chase sensations and immediate gratification. That usually happens when you put the material/flesh before the spiritual/purpose!

yea agree fully with him i would also add if a man is having sex with a woman before Marriage why would he marry her ? like the old saying why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free look everyone has their own preferences but some advice to women if you genuinely want to get married and start a family do not have sex with the guy before marriage because putting it bluntly if he won't wait till marriage before sleeping with you he's not gonna stick around for the long term same advice is vice versa as well to be honest

People this is my advice, live together before marriage as much as you need. If you're going to fall apart it's much better than divorce, but if the relationship is strong after a few years.. Maybe 2-3 maybe more (you figure it out how much you need), I for example married by wife after 12 years (but I'm sure we're an exception coz there was no pressure on us to marry). My sister though married quickly and after 3 or 4 years divorced.. If you're not pressured into it, go as much as you can without marriage until you understand one another well and want to go the extra mile.

I lived with my bf for awhile and it didn't do any good. Playing house before marriage just shows you dont need to get married to act married. So the value of marriage goes down
@TricoliciSerghei
@TricoliciSerghei 9 ай бұрын
@@sierrahjmartinez6703 The value of marriage indeed goes down, but is that bad? What's the end point for marriage? Marriage is one more constraint into keeping two people together, that's it. If you can live your lives together without marriage, all your life, and you are happy, do that. We married because we needed legal documents on a flat that we wanted to buy and were considering children, so marriage was beneficial to us since it gives financial security for both people in case of divorce, and I wanted to be fair to my wife since the apparment was going to be singed under my name.

One more thing about sex after marriage is that the sex might be BAD.. This might be a dealbreaker for somebody. I don't say that you'll divorce if the sex is bad, you can have lovers on the side, but is this a happy marriage if someone seeks to satify needs on the side? Marriage should make people happy, at least that's my sentiment.
@sierrahjmartinez6703

From what I've learned from marriage is its not about making you happy. It's about love and love comes with heartache and difficult times. And you know there's love in the marriage cuz no matter what difficulties arise you still love each other. Many wives actually stop desiring sex in their 30s. Even if the sex was amazing before marriage it definitely does not mean it will be forever. And if bad sex is a deal breaker for you then you hella suck as a person. If say marry someone and for whatever reason they can't dont want to have sex. Trauma or health issues or it just doesn't feel good. Then because sex is so important to you will leave and cheat and just be a dck head unfaithful person? Wow you are definitely not someone worth being with for no longer for a night.

@@sierrahjmartinez6703 Look missy, I can't explain myself in 2 sentences on youtube about what marriage entails and everything related to it, but I surely don't like when people insult me because they didn't like something in what I wrote or they concluded something different than what the original message is. So please be more respectful, to all people around you. You can ask for details if you think something was off in my message. I think marriage is a great thing and also a great sacrifice, and I was talking about the fact that Sex might be a deal-breaker for some people who knows how many, for me it's also a big deal for example.. BUT, I think that it doesn't matter what the topic is about, the spouses should talk about all the issues and try to find a way to solve them in a way that's comfortable for both parties and beneficial to the marriage. Again, am I pro sex before marriage, I am against having many bodies.. This means that "sex" is something special and we should keep it that way, it goes both for men and women.

i think when she says that the statistics are skewed because people who are virgins when they marry tend to be religious and so they divorce less on principal, she's seeing that a marriage that is miserable or even abusive but stays together because they "have to" isnt exactly something to aspire to.

I highly doubt the majority of religious people have unhappy abusive marriages, I would say it's the opposite the majority of non religious marriages and relationships are unhappy and partly abusive considering the percentage of marriages ending in divorce and relationships ending after having sex or having children which is the opposite of religious people's because they live with guidance and faith, and less of the mentally of I can always get better which is the killer of happiness in every persons lives including the mega rich. Greedy jealous people are never happy. That is all besides the fact that people don't take up religion to be slaves or for nothing, it improves their lives that's the draw to it, and if it doesn't they have the will power to leave the marriage or relationship if they want, outa faith or happiness they stay, and if religion based marriages are happier good for them, though obviously it takes discipline to follow religious practices, and discipline is a trait that all successful people have.

Majority of ppl are hairless chimps that dont really perform better than a regular chimps, they just follow their instinctive behavior and live life like the NPCs they are... most ppl dont really think about things, do the introspection needed to be descent humans.

@@jimmcneal5292 bringing up whether on not they are religious or divorce being a sin are moot points. even religious people sometimes engage is sinful behavior sometimes. To use an analogy, let's say a person can get away with and benefits (at least in the short term) from graping someone, but chooses not to. Will it really matter what their reasoning was for not graping? No it wouldn't.
