Hello all you lovely people!
I was challenged to do this tag so I did! It was fun to answer all the questions but they were a little deeper than I thought they would be!
Here are the questions so you guys can answer them as well!
1. How old are you?
2. How long have you been covering?
3. How do you cover?
- all of your hair?
- other parts of your body you keep covered
- do you try to dissimulate the shape of your body
- do you keep any other modesty standards
4. Why do you cover? Is the reason now the same as it was in the beginning?
5. In front of whom do you stay covered? Are there exceptions?
6. What was the reaction of your husband? Other family members? People you meet?
7. How has covering changed your life? (prayer, self-esteem, testifying....)
8. What is you denomination?
You are all always in my thoughts and prayers! I pray that you are all healthy and happy in your every day!
Blessings and love always,
LOU

I don't know why but I feel led to share this story, when I first started covering I was going to a all woman's Bible study and after one of the studies one day I felt led to share with them why I started covering and a little bit of history about it. I obviously got very negative responses and I left there feeling very down and out almost in tears feeling like maybe I was wrong. Now prior to this no one has ever in public complimented my head covering but that day after leaving the study I stopped at a local convenience store and this woman approached me and went on and on about how beautiful my head covering was. I could tell by the word she was saying that it was not coming from her but that the Holy Spirit was giving her with the words to speak I knew the compliment was coming from my heavenly father and it totally lifted up my spirit and I felt confident once again. I hope this story blesses someone, blessings and love to all my dear sisters in the Lord.

This is such a beautiful story and an amazing showing of Abba’s love for us! I have gotten the negative reaction just like you have and it can be so hurtful and make us question ourselves to the deepest level! I am so very glad that Abba gave you the word you needed to be lifted back up! So perfect it could only be from Him!! ❤️

Love you sister! Abba convicted me to start headcovering like 2 years ago . My prayer life has also gotten so much stronger and it’s helped me pray in the spirit more instead of thinking about what I want to say. I just let it all pour out. It’s amazing

At almost 65, I ran into wrapping tutorials with Andrea at Wrapunzel. I knew nothing about head coverings whatsoever really, except what nuns used to do and muslims. So these tutorials intrigued me and kept watching them and gleaned that people of every walk Muslim, Jew, Christian, those with medical reasons like cancer or alopecia. I had pretty thick hair when I was younger, but it was gradually getting thinner. I’ve worn wigs fir several years, but watching Andrea’s tutorials I thought I’d give it a whirl. I loved it immediately. I know why babies calm when being swaddled. It’s been six months since I started covering. I live alone, no husband or children to consider. I find days where I don’t wanna wrap...but that usually changes after a few hours. I have noticed new hair growth in the front. Will it come back? Who knows? Doesn’t matter....I’ve since listened to others regarding the spiritual side of things for covering (new to me). I’ve been a follower of Jesus for many years and have never heard of covering being taught. After all these years, I feel the unction yo do so and love it. Most people don’t even give me a second look and a few have commented on how lovely it is. No bad reactions from anyone.

Head covering is for the married and old ladies. The bible says you cover to show that you have authority over you. If you are not married you don't have that authority over you therefore no requirement to cover. Yes the young ladies do cover just for the fun of it. As for men, young or old, it's the opposite. They have to remove their head coverings whilst in some areas, for example, in church and when they are praying or prophesying.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I too felt called to cover a few years ago and have found so much peace and joy in it. It has really helped me to humble myself, especially in a world of looks and outward appearances mean so much, which sadly is even in the church. We are called to be set apart, different, unusual, spotless, and blamelesss, not look and act like the world around us. I was called out publicly for it in church which was so embarrassing, but I didn't let it faze me because you don't know what you don't know. I grew up in the church and had never known anyone to cover and never heard teaching on it, so I can see how people simply don't understand it. In my research I studied 1 Cor 11 for months and months. Especailly looking into the meanings in Greek. The word for covering in 1 Corthians 11:4, 5,6,7, 13, is the word, katakalýptō, from katá, "down, and kalýptō, "to cover"-cover down, to make appropriate (complete), i.e. to wear a veil. It is the same word used for the veil that separated the Holy of holies from the priests. It is clearly taking about a peice of fabric. But vrs 15 does NOT use the same word for covering. Vrs 15. "but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering." This is a different word for "cover"= "peribolaion," that which is thrown around or a mantel that can be thrown around (As in when a women tosses or throws her hair around) which can be very alluring to men. This is where we get the saying, "Let your hair down." Up until only the last generation woman covered in Church. It was only during the sexual revolution that Chriatin women in North America stopped covering their heads. ALL of our grandmothers would have covered in church. This is why the Hutterites, Mennonites, Amish, orthodox churches, alot of African congratations, and messiniac Jews (Jews who beleive in Jesus) etc still cover their hair. We are not supposed to be like the world. Thank you so much for sharing. 1 Corinthians 11:1-18 Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering. If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.

We started following Abba’s Feasts about 3 years ago and it began the journey into Torah observance. I have been head covering for about a year and a half and it was a little after that that it all fell into place. My covering definitely reminds me that I am His daughter.

LOU Ministries - Lifting Others Up this is amazing. You gave me a perfect explanation “Torah observing Christian” I’ve always wondered how I would explain it to people and why I feel led to head cover when so many people are trying to stop me. I’ve only covered once and was literally laughed at, at church. But I still feel this is where Yahweh is calling me and I desire to let go of people’s thoughts and options and only follow His voice. I’m grateful to hear your prayer life increased after. I saw that on several videos and am so looking forward to that as well. Thank you! Bless you

I got sick and lost way too much weight during that time. I am no longer curvy and it somewhat started my separation from the world. I get self conscious that I have no form or look like a child or a boy. I'm mistaken for a child often as I'm not very tall, I recently had surgery and no longer have reproductive organs (complications of endometriosis) and I'm struggling with that change. Right now my head covered is the only thing I find feminine about myself. even if I'm in a full skirt I'm so lost and swallowed up by fabric I don't see any figure. I suppose it's the point, I don't wear makeup and I'm not comfortable in snug clothes cus even they dont fit and are not how I want to present myself. Going back to work I pray wont be too difficult but will challenge me especially if I get back into certain industries that respond to power dressing

Heather's Korner It has seemed like that for me at times. When it happens I just pray for protection and strength. I also ask Yah to only allow me to hear his voice, as I have a tendency to ruminate. It makes all the difference. Usually, I will have a special interaction with someone I know was sent from Him, to give me an uplifting word. Try covering for a week and see what happens!

It seems any time I am on a path that Abba has willed for me, the enemy tries to throw me off. When I first started covering, the attacks were stronger. However on the flip side of it, it seemed as if my prayer life was getting stronger as well as I grew closer to Abba. When you feel the attacks coming on, pray hard. I have friends who I can text or call and they will also pray for me when needed. That is a huge help! One encouraging thing I can tell you, for me personally the attacks have seemed to tapper off over time. Remember that the enemy has already been defeated and he is simply trying to work his way back in any way possible. But you have our Messiah on your side! ❤️

Yes and no because when I started covering I was lost and now I'm found and there are times we must pray and ask to be shown things hidden from us that must be cleansed or discerned. It's not always warfare it's sometimes conviction and other times literally house cleaning and there's always a bug or two that might get away from us. But in those times we pray and rebuke anything ungodly we make it clear that our home belongs to the lord. Anything "feeding" will try to cling out of desperation and temptation. Conviction happens overtime and may challenge us all with temptations of the world. Ask and pray to see, hear and discern spirits. Sometimes something comes over me that's unsettling and I start vocally rebuking anything not welcomed and usually I can say the words are not my own but that of the holy spirit. Understand who and what fallen Angel's are and when u ask to be shown what's in ur home u will be shown. Ask that his light leave no place untouched

@louministries-liftingother5126
@louministries-liftingother5126 5 жыл бұрын
In regards to scripture, that is one of the references. But the reason I started covering was a direct calling from Abba. We had been celebrating the Feasts and slowly becoming more Torah observant and this was a huge push in that direction for me. Many believe that 1 Corinthians 11 is speaking about hair but I am one that believes it is talking about a separate veil.

Here's some verses in the OT about head covering. Hope these help if anyone is interested. Isaiah 47:1-2. Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate. Take the millstones and grind flour, "put off your veil", strip off your robe, uncover your legs, pass through the rivers. (So as we can see, even virgins were to keep their heads covered and save their hair for their husbands. Otherwise it is like they are showing all their nakedness). Numbers 5:18. Then the priest shall stand the woman before the LORD, "uncover the woman’s head," and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse. Also Genesis 20:16 says in the Hebrew Then to Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; indeed this is "a covering for her eyes" (to put back on her wedding covering) you before all who are with you and before everybody.” Thus she was rebuked. From what I understand In Genesis 24:65. Rebekah covers herself because the bridal price has already been paid. 2 vrs later we see Isaac take Rebekah bright away into his tent. There was no wedding ceremony. Her covering herself was an outward show of her marriage to Isaac. Since they were married he was allowed to take her right away into his tent and "uncover" her.

Thanks for posting. I’m in a similar boat but haven’t done headcovering yet full time. My question for you is this - not to pressure you but to see if God has spoken to you about it. Why did God give us hair if we only end up covering it? I know we could say the same about legs or other body parts but I just think hair is a part of our personalities and why would God want us to cover? Thanks in advance if you could answer your thoughts.

I do believe each journey is different and Abba calls us to cover in different ways. He called me to cover and, at first, it was just partially and you could still see my hair. But that wasn't what He wanted from me. I started covering fully and everything changed. My hair has become a part of my modesty. Just like other women would cover their chest, stomach, and bottom, I cover my hair. Every night when we go to bed, I unwrap my hair for my husband to see. It is something that is only for him. In a world where we give everything away, it is something that is special for only my husband. There are so many people in this world who know my laugh, my voice, my sense of humor, or even just my face. But only my husband knows my hair being let down fully. This is how I was called though and I don't expect everyone to feel this radically. I don't ever want you ladies to feel I am condemning you through my actions! I hope this helps with your question gorgeous!

Lol I am going through same process of playing with how I cover. I don't like to double wrap so I end up with tails and then I fuss with them and not my intention. For sure it's my conviction of convictions when it comes to submission and obedience. It was my vanity that lead me astray. My flesh, my vanity my beauty is what I set aside, the rest of the world isnt so appealing. For me self idolatry was a big western issue I had no idea I fell prey to. As for covering my head I love it, I think of it as my wedding ring and my faith and commitment. Gods name is "I am" we took gods name in vain as our own name and self idolize. Dangerous to not teach women to be good wives and mothers.

A person asked for denomination you would be considered a Messianic because you follow the ways of Yeshua and a servant of the Torah... Very recently it has been a demanding crash course for me with whether to cover or not, and will soon have my first snood to wear. My boyfriend doesn’t know what a snood is or why I am going to start wearing one, but he is curious about it and fine with my small changes. I do not like wearing clothes that are tight or showing my body figure, my boyfriend wants me to show a tiny bit but he understands my point of view. I do not wear skirts except during Sabbath (Saturday in translation), I prefer pants so that I don’t get skin burns. When in public, except during Sabbath, I do not wear long sleeves but I never show off my shoulders by wearing short sleeves that sometimes go up to my elbows. I never wear shoes with any sized heels, even on Sabbath I wear sandal-boots by ⚠️. Dressy shoes are extremely rare, usually if invited to a wedding and that’s it. Further it is very hard to find shoes in my shoes size, I’m size 4 in adults. When asked about religion or affiliation, I use Messianic, one who follows the Bible and believe that Yeshua was sent to save the world from sin.

I think you may have misunderstood! I absolutely love, adore, respect, and admire Yeshua. It is the man made labels that drive me bonkers. The title of the video I think you are referring to is in quotes because I have been asked that many times since I started covering. I love my Messiah. He rescued me from the depths of everything unholy.

You should not be ashamed to be called christian. That is not a denomination. Read Acts 11:26. Last sentence states: And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

1 cor 11;16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. it was the tradition and custon and culture of those times. nothing else in 1 pet 3 we read about women coming to the church meetings with plaited hair so women did not cover the hair. thirdly, the Bible says that everything has to be gounded on at least TWO witnesses. there is only ONE place in the Bible where you read about the head covering and that is also not very clear since we read in the very passage that the hair of women is their covering. in the new testament we dont follow the traditions of old. we follow Lord Yeshu who set us free from the external things. now the reality is Christ Himself. not the things on the outside those who wear head coverings rely on the Flesh which is SIN and that is the WRONG REBELLION... thats bondage to sin... and by the way...at the very beginning you showed who you are ...throwing a satan's horn sign...
