The Oakland California Temple was the Church’s 13th temple when President David O. McKay (1873-1970) dedicated it on Nov. 17, 1964. The temple was the second in California (following the Los Angeles California Temple) and currently serves Latter-day Saints from 31 stakes in Northern California. The temple is one of seven temples in the state, with an eighth announced in Yuba City. There are currently 209 temples operating, announced or under construction throughout the world.

"I learned quite a bit about what they believe verses having it be hearsay" quote from Asst. Pastor William's. I appreciate this statement as there is so much false information that people say without going to the real source! Thank you!

I love this so much! I know the church has always had the temples open to the public before they've been dedicated, but this is such an amazing time in the world where people can see these events and be touched by the spirit while standing in line at Costco!!

I spent my child hood in Utah, but spent the first 30 years of my life agnostic and somewhat indifferent about religion and God, including the divinity of Jesus Christ. But I was able to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my early 30s and go to the temple. A few years later I found myself working in Morocco amongst the Shiite Muslims. There are some fundamental differences that can't be ignored between our religions and many of the people there focused on those differences. But many other Muslims in Morocco are hoping for greater religious freedom. They have a great desire to find out more about Christian beliefs and about Christ himself. The beliefs of that particular branch of Muslims are increably close to my own. As believers of the God of Abraham they have ordinances that I found in the Temple and when i have worshipped with other Christian beliefs. When Muslim countries gain religious freedom millions and millions people will accept Jesus Christ as thier lord and Saviour. They will find the temple a comforting and somewhat familiar place. Even though Christians are imprisoned in these countries for sharing their beliefs, God's work is moving forward at a great pace. While living there I felt Christ's presence often, and almost every day had a spiritual experience reminding me of him.

I was the first person to like it. 😁💗 That makes me so excited! I love the work that is being put forth in branching out and increasing other’s understanding of our faith and our beliefs. I think that is one of the many ways we are hastening the work in the latter days, and I also believe that whenever we participate in wholesome activities with people of other religious backgrounds, we are embracing and honoring our humanity-the compassion that our Heavenly Father gave us, and that we express so freely in interfaith works. I love it!

Martin England The one world religion spoke of in the Book of Revelation isn’t The Church of Jesus Christ. Plus, the anti-Christ must emerge. And, will emerge. However, Christ will overcome the anti-Christ. The Church of Jesus of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints won’t be part of an anti-Christ one world religion.

It's so wonderful to hear the experiences of how people who are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and those who aren't, felt about going on a tour of these holy houses of the Lord. I know that these buildings are authorized by God to help bless the whole human family!

It was a wonderful experience to see how the world is a better place when we come together for better understandings of various faiths. We are all one in humanity with our fellow brothers & sisters of all faiths. We visited the Oakland Temple with the Interfaith Community of South County, and we thank you for the opportunity.

King James Bible Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.(his word) Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Revelation 2:16 16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Jesus said it himself, why then seek other ways to bring peace in his name repent.

Well, going in circles around a big box that was once used for pagan worship and it has a meteorite on it that people like to touch or kiss; and running up a hill, and going down this road and back, and throwing rocks at a pillar, all similar if not identical rituals from early pagans of the Arabian Peninsula... yes, I would say the rituals are very different.

11. The mediator between God and men has to be a living man on the earth. And in verse 7, Paul says that it is for that testimony that he has been sent on the earth. Paul says in verse 7, testimony to which I, Paul, have been appointed a herald and apostle. I speak the truth, I do not lie. You see? Paul did not say that the Lord Jesus Christ was the mediator between God and men while Paul was on the earth, but that him Paul also was on the earth to assume that function of mediator. Paul did not say that Jesus of Nazareth would be the mediator between God and men today while I Prophet Kacou Philippe, I am on the earth. Paul cannot say it because it is a lie and the Spirit of God does not lie. [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"]. Thus, at the time of Paul, either Paul as a man was your mediator, either Satan was your mediator. And today, either the man Kacou Philippe living amongst you is your mediator, either Satan is your mediator. [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"]. #ProphetKacouPhilippe #PKPCHANNELTV

The TAQIYYAI guy forgot to mention Muslims worship a different GOD
@dianatodd2300
@dianatodd2300 4 жыл бұрын
This ignorant comment really pains me. This is not true. They worship God the Father, known in the Arabic language as Allah. They do not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ as the Messiah and Son of God, but they do believe that he was a holy man, and that his His mother, Mary, was a pure and holy woman. They also recognize Christians and Jews as well as themselves, to be "people of the book," (Talmud, Old Testament, and Koran,) and recognize that all these people also worship the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Of course, They also believe that Muhammed was a prophet of that same Heavenly Father, and much of the Koran is to them, as the New Testament is to Christians, a continuation of the gospel given to them through a prophet or "disciple of God." I am LDS, but I had a dear friend who was Muslim. I also knew a dear sister in our ward who's husband was Muslim.. Consequently, I have learned a great deal over the years. My friend and I in particular, had the opportunity to share some really significant discussions, and experiences together. I fasted during Ramadan with her, to support her one year, and she attended church with me once or twice to hear me give a talk or sing. I have also had the distinct pleasure and honor to attend a Jewish "Seder" dinner. I felt particularly enlightened by this, as I pondered the fact the Jesus was a Jew, and this tradition would have been a part of his life as well. -- Getting back to this particular discussion however, people need to remember, that just as there are many kinds of Christian faiths, there are different Muslim groups as well, and there are some pretty major differences taught by some of them....largely in terms of how they see their roles and responsibilities in the world, as well as their own prejudices towards others. Sadly, ignorance, bigotry, and the like are not restricted to any one group of people, but have reared their ugly heads so often in the course of human history, amongst all cultures and ages, and they still do today. We need to learn to understand each other, and listen to each other instead of relying on rumors, innuendo, and lies. This is how friendship and respect grow instead of fear, anger, and hatred. We do not have to agree to everything we believe to find mutual values, and the shared desire to be better people, and to honor our mutual God, our Heavenly Father.
