I think we and the two in this exchange will simply talk past one another until one recognizes the difference between salvation and exaltation. And yes some members are not trained apologists and won’t know the nuances of doctrine. Even more in all religions God leaves much still to be discovered and unveiled. I was a missionary who served for two years in Rio de Janeiro. I take great pride in being extremely well versed in many different belief structures and have always felt encouraged by church leaders to not fear truth and to seek it from all its sources unabashedly. I would be more than willing to chat with you on any subject and see if we can turn that frown you wear for me, upside down.

The street preacher is trying to say our doctrine is different than what it actually is. 3rd article of Faith: We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. It is not our works we are doing, but the commandments that Jesus has given us to obey him and his ordinances.

Evangelicals, like this street preacher, tend to be their own interpreter of Scripture. I am always amused that such individuals make dogmatic pronouncements about the teaching of the Bible but do not state what (if any) communion they are part of. In addition, the man in this video ignores vast portions of the Bible that do not comport with his teaching at all. How exactly is this supposed to impress strangers he meets on the street? 🤔
