I am so grateful to God for how He orchestrated this new season of Honest Discourse episodes. A huge shout out to our speakers who said yes to participating. Engaging someone who holds differing views respectfully and honestly takes a great deal of effort. The world desperately needs more conversations like this, and we are excited to see the impact these episodes will make.

Great interview very respectful The deconstruction guy sounds like he is living his life standing on a wet bar of soap he doesn’t want to put a foot on anything that has a foundation His nerves laugh makes me wonder if he really believes what he believes or he just wants it to be true but he doesn’t believe in absolute truth

Yes, Im afraid so and I pray for him, for i'm not at all sure he's truly saved (and this makes me both ssd and scared for him ... nothing on earth is more impt) ... I nean he doesnt yet KNOW or HAVE the one true God in His heart. This all also brings out how very crucial is the right theology of a church that you go to. Thank GOD He finally lifted me fron the muck of ky lostness and ... through the loving-ness of a few people from a church with some wrong beliefs (Nazarene) He led me to an independent, fundamental Baptist one with a courageous, smart, yet gentle man, wonderful at soulwinning and personal counselling for its pastor. I love everything about this.. thank you showing the raw truth of the deconstructing faith without rightly reconstructing their beliefs correctly. Johnny was brave to come forward and share his experiences that I believe many ppl can resonate with, but Jonny also did a wonderful job calling into question these beliefs and using this platform to rightly teach what the scriptures say about God and Jesus. Great conversation and wonderful way to spur on Christians to cont to make disciples of all nations. Well done, great questions and hoping to see more from this channel.

There is no “right” way to deconstruct, otherwise it’s not true deconstruction but simply a reinterpretation or change in theology

As mentioned in this video, it really comes down to John 14:6 - Jesus said, "I am the Way, the truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but through me." Either what Jesus said is true, which makes all of scripture true for it was written through His Spirit through man. or he is a lunatic or a liar... I for one know He is the Way, the truth and the life due to him speaking to me audibly at 4 years old before I even knew there was a God, Jesus or Holy Spirit. As soon as Jesus spoke to me, I knew who it was. He didn't tell me His name, I just knew. His voice was so loving, kind, truthful and yet with authority that deserved all my worship. I got all that in that short moment, with these simple words "you need to forgive her". He was right (as He always is). I was starting to hate my neighbor for stealing my things, but when He spoke this to me, I did choose to forgive her. So thankful for this life lesson that I have had to use many times in my lifetime... Forgiveness is a key to staying connected to Jesus and receiving the best He has for each of us...
@RoqueJohnnyАй бұрын
Bringing up "'John 14:6 - Jesus said, "I am the Way, the truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but through me.'" Is a great point, I would not put it under lunatic or liar for it not being able to be fully possible to physically go through Jesus, but allowing the spirit of Jesus or the teachings of Jesus to go through you is very possible. The "comes to the father" part shows that in order to know God you must know Jesus which makes perfect sense because Jesus is the embodiment of God, so your experiences as a "human" can be more relatable to "Jesus'" experiences than to "God's" experiences. Example, you know what it is like to be tempted and to walk by faith, however you have no idea what it is like to breathe life into dirt and have a man created. I do 100% agree with you about forgiveness. Holding something so close to your heart as anger and vengeance is a dangerous thing that was put in us for survival and it needs to be monitored or extinguished.
@fbrennan949428 күн бұрын
@@RoqueJohnny Hi, I guess I am a bit confused on the first part of your reply?? If I am understanding correctly, you think this verse is saying we actually go through Jesus? This verse doesn't mean we physically go through Jesus, but it is about one's belief in Jesus as the only way to the Father. Agree in order to get to the Father, we need to believe in Jesus as His only Son and our Savior, there is no other way (no Buddha, no Mohammad, nothing else). I am not sure I understand fully about what your saying about Jesus and the Father. I know there have been some that have been in the presence of both God the Father and Jesus in Heaven (their testimonies). And can understand more about the Father. I know He is loving, but haven't encountered Him (yet), like I have Jesus. I think the Father can be known deeper as well. I guess I would disagree on one point that anger and vengeance was "put" into us for survival. That wording to me sounds like your saying we are like animals. We are created in the image of God and these things were not put into us, but is a sign of our flesh or demonic influences, is how I see it... Anger or vengeance are choices. I am glad you see that that is not a good way to live! God Bless!!

Jonny, the Christian, did a great job of exposing Johnny the non-Christian's corrupt worldview, lack of morals, distrust of God's word, due to being unsaved, and having a legalistic upbringing. Very gentle way of presenting the truth to Johnny the non-Christian, but should have told him he was wrong, according to the Bible more directly. He's a product of the modern gospel.

If he got baptized every year, he probably was not in a good church. A good pastor would not baptize somebody once a year.. knowing that baptism is an ordinance only to be done after a person gets saved / born again
@RoqueJohnnyАй бұрын
They were actually really great pastors. Fully helped out the communities they touched and were believers for most of if not their entire lives. I grew up in a suburb of East LA (East East LA) and there were many people that had actually problems who were seeking God in addition we had a very large youth group for that city which kept kids out of the streets. The pastors saw the willingness to be baptized again as either a rededication of their souls to keep on track with the lord or a public stand for the lord. Plus it was usually over 100 degrees in July at one of the church leaders house in order to have a holy and productive Christian BBQ. How was your baptism conducted?
