Don't give up, whatever you do. I started at 10. I have been completely free for ten years now. It should have been over 30, but I did not properly learn to fully place my trust in the Lord in spite of the fact that He delivered me in a moment of time. I didn't realize all the lessons I still had to learn, and they were hard. John 10:10!

To your point of sympathy, you mean you would rather have people take a pill which is made up of many chemicals that have side effects, then you need a pill to cancel those side effects. The pharmaceutical world wants every one on pills , just go to the doctor for what ever reason , you will get prescribed a pill. So your telling me God would rather have people take a man made pill over a natural plant. Pills are far worse then weed.

yep. drugs that are sold by pharmacists to Christian's for things like anxiety and depression... I have a friend who has a health problem that requires either chemo or pot. Thankfully they chose pot over chemo since chemo screws hundreds of thousands of people's lives every year :/ the whole fam started using it so she wouldnt feel like she is a "druggie" and they have found multiple problems have been helped through smoking or doing edibles. Sucks for them they are going to hell for choosing something that isnt a man made chemical ;)

What I'm understanding is that they are not discussing the natural cannabis plant as God created it. Man has tampered with it to increase the THC levels it contains so that it is much more potent. This is the same thing that is done to most natural plants used by the pharmaceutical industry. Man synthesizes & hybridizes to increase potency thereby creating the dangerous side effects.

We used to smoke marihuana before we became a Christian. As a matter of fact, being high on that drug was one of the first times where we got a deep-DEEP sense that God was actually real. That He actually existed. It was beyond words, how profound the experiences were. After becoming a Christian we noticed a shift in the experience and got the sense of hearing God say that it was time for us to stop using. We didnt listen and continued using. For three times He said that it was time for us to stop using. During the fourth disobedience on our part we had a negative high, something very scary seemed to be with us in the room. Never EVER smokes marihuana after that again. I firmly believe that -at least for me- I open myself up spiritually to a realm that I have no business messing with.

Thank you Jesus for not condemming our Fathers medicine. But i notice some christians are deminizing Gods natural medicine, but seem to have no issues with taking man made drugs, as long as their drug dealer is a doctor. Bless you 🙏❤

Much appreciate this Sean and Todd. I've been a Christian in the cannabis industry for 5 years and while there's a significant learning curve, Christians are generally left in the dust as far as true Biblical perspective and scientific application to cannabis questions. I don't agree with all of Todd's conclusions but very much appreciate the effort and the light shed on this topic for Christians. Kudos, guys, and thanks again.

Todd Miles statements about marijuana are a bit misleading. He only talked about THC which is the chemical component that gets you high but he never mentioned CBD which is the chemical component in cannabis that has a strong medical potential for treatment. Medical marijuana is a plant that consists of high percentages of CBD and low or no percentages of THC. It doesn't get you high. There is a lot of research been done about CBD but Todd Miles never mentioned that. I'm not a proponent for marijuana usages. I'm only pointing out the insincerity of Todd Miles when it comes to this controversial topic. Always do your own research.
@wormraper
@wormraper 3 жыл бұрын
"medical marijuana" most certainly has THC in it. In fact many of the hybrids you can buy at medical dispensaries are SUPER thc loaded (some as high as 30% or more). They have experimented with CBD heavy strains with fewer TCH counts, but they have never been able to come u p with viable strains that have almost NO thc in them. At least not strains that work very well. Mordern knowledge actually realizes that it's a BALANCE of THC and CBD that is the most effective for pain and nausea. Heavy THC ones with low CBD tend to knock you on your butt a bit more, but also give more "hangover" symptoms (if you will) but are super popular because they give you a buzz faster. The high cbd low THC ones also aren't nearly as effective when ingested or inhaled (high cbd oils do work well for ointments and creams though). They found out in the last decade that the closer you get to an even balance of THC and CBD (the way most weed plants were back before hydroponics and plant breeding created a million hybrids) gives the most relief.

Something that I believe was incredibly misleading in this video, was the comparison of the effects of alcohol to the effects of weed. Having used marijuana both appropriately and inappropriately (in excess) for about 2 years now, I can honestly say that I was shocked when I first got high and realized that it was an entirely different experience from alcohol. You absolutely have complete control over your physicality and your mind, which is not the same with drunkenness. I would even feel entirely comfortable driving through town after a joint. (Hence the reason that driving under the influence of marijuana is not considered a DUI in most states). The experience of a high, is SO different from the experience of drunkenness. A good example of this would be those silly videos where people attempt to paint a picture while high vs while drunk. The results of the person who is high are hands-down always specific, controlled, and incredibly detailed. The results of the person who is drunk are typically more sloppy or abstract. I would argue not only from personal experience, but also from the countless studies that have come out of Harvard, Yale, Hopkins, etc., that (when used appropriately- I.e. 21-25y/o or older, weekly smoking/edibles instead of daily smoking or edibles, limiting your amounts when you do use, and staying in good physical health otherwise) marijuana can actually severely improve your life on a much greater level than prescription drugs. The data clearly shows a much higher risk of addiction to prescription drugs, such as opioids, than it ever has for marijuana. I’ve watched my manic cousin have her life turned upside down by prescription drugs that made her condition so much worse, and I watched her life begin to heal and normalize again once she began to medicate with marijuana. And I know many other medical marijuana users whose stories are very similar. Most of all, I think this idea that marijuana can be compared to alcohol in any capacity is a result of tragic misinformation and speculation without experience OR evidence. There’s been thousands of recorded deaths from alcohol poisoning or people dying to their alcohol addictions - nearly 20% of the American population are alcoholics. While there has never been a single documented case where an individual died due to a marijuana addiction, and not a single documented case where an individual died from an overdose on marijuana. As far as our research shows, it’s extremely unlikely to become addicted to Mary-Jane, and nearly impossible to die from it. I agree that there are negative effects, but much of the negative effects mentioned here, apply to an extreme over-use of marijuana, and the use of marijuana in kids, teens, and young adults whose brains have not fully developed. Which is the same criteria of warning that we give for many things, including NyQuil, Benadryl, Ibuprofen, ipecac, etc.. I believe that the only way to compare marijuana to alcohol, is in the recreational usage. A hit or two off of a joint will likely help anyone, even persons with a low tolerance to weed, relax and loosen up. In the same way, a glass of wine, or a couple beers over the course of an evening can help a person relax and enjoy their night, without taking over control of their physical or cognitive abilities. I speak not only from my personal experience and research, but also from the perspectives that I’ve gathered from many of my friends who also use marijuana appropriately, not excessively. I don’t think it’s wrong to have a glass of wine simply because you enjoy the flavor and the feeling every now and then, and I think that the same goes for marijuana. It takes time to learn how to use marijuana appropriately, and I agree it’s more difficult to gauge, (whereas with alcohol you can test out a glass of wine and figure out how much or how little to drink next time), but I don’t believe that the larger learning curve that comes with smoking (or ingesting) marijuana is a reason to write it off and call it unbiblical or dangerous for that matter. I think nicotine is a bigger problem that the church needs to address.

Completely agree and well said. As someone with a debilitating rare form of Multiple Sclerosis and also fibromyalgia. Since the age of 20! in have had a tremendous amount of pain. At one point, I was on 12 different medications to control my disease, including 3 different types of pain medication. I now take only one pain medication and 2 other medications to control my disease. The massive drop in medication numbers are inly possible because of cannabis. Before my health emergency, I was an active young person with my whole life ahead of me. In moment, I became bedridden and suffered greatly for about 5 years. Cannabis, to me, is a tool from God to be used in moderation and with wisdom. God used it to give me my life back. Literally went from All Star athlete to invalid. Then after no one thought I would ever be anywhere near the person I was, cannabis enabled me to work again, drive again and so many things. I believe it's a gift, like wine, lile caffeine, to be used in moderation and with wisdom. Used as a medicinal tool, I believe it's Biblically pretty straightforward. I agree with both here about the recreational aspects and those of young, undeveloped minds partaking.

I am fully ready to give up any and all things God disapproves of but I am convinced marijuana is not one of those things. Never once has smoking cannabis ever hindered my prayer time or my desire to earnestly seek and know Christ above all else, if anything it draws me into more awareness and worship of God. Alcohol... I understand, I used marijuana inappropriately for a very long time as well and it had many negative side effects. However I made a switch to smoking on occasion and only when I feel I need the extra focus or mental stability that it provides. I did this by quitting for months on end before transitioning back to a smoke every weekend or so. When I smoke I use hardly any now, and I’ve found that this usage of marijuana has severely improved my life - not only has my lung capacity and lung health increased according to my doctors, but my cognitive function is much better. I struggle with ADD and marijuana has significantly helped that since I’ve started using it with purpose, instead of simply using it for fun. I don’t think it’s wrong to use it for fun on occasion either. And like they said here^ you are hardly likely to become addicted if you practice discipline from the start. Marijuana should absolutely not be used under the age of 21, because it certainly will negatively affect the development of the brain. However once the brain is fully developed, I believe there’s mountains of research that support the idea that one can safely use marijuana to improve their health MORESO than they can use alcohol to improve their health. The problem is not marijuana, and the problem is not THC - the problem is an inappropriate over usage of it.

You have to ask is what I am doing Glorifying my Father? If it doesn't glorify Him, don't do it. Also, two things, God made poppies from which Heroin is made. The plant is good, the uses can be bad. The second thing there are some benefits to medical cannabis OIL in particular. My mom took a table of oil nightly for her cancer. But it wasn't to get high. I did help with sleep and pain and helped keep cancer under control a bit. She since passed away, but I would at any point recommend CBD oil even one CBD oil with a 1:1 Cannabidiol, THC ratio. There is good research on it helping combat cancer. I read extensively on this topic. But smoking it for getting High is a no-no.

I am a Christian and smoke medical marijuanna for pain. NOT FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES!! And my doctors are aware and encouraging me to continue. I started smoking pot as a teenager like everyone else. 16-18. Stopped when I got pregnant and remained stopped for 35 yrs. Had a total hysterectomy in 2015 which made my lifetime migraines worse. All the pharmaceuticals that were given to me, ie Topamax, Imitrex etc made my cognitive abilities diminish significantly!! Had to go on disability and lost my job as a security manager. Tried botox, having my daith pierced....everything to help with my 15+ migraines per month. Read up on the use of medical marijuanna to help with migraines. Discussed with my neurologist and Decided to give it a try again. What I found out is that not only does it keep my migraines at bay, but surprisingly I do not get the "high" that I remembered when I was a teenager. And for that, I am very grateful! To be honest, there are no affects to my overall cognitive abilities or mental state AT ALL!! IT DOES HELP MY MIGRAINES and that is all I wanted it for. I keep wanting to ask everyone that speaks against its use, if they are a longtime user (or ever used) marijuanna for pain management themselves. Because, it does not diminish your mental or physical abilities if you smoke on a daily basis. You no longer get "high"!! Your body grows accustom to having thc in your system all the time and so the "high" no longer exist. So trying to use it for recreational use doesn't work for those using it for medical purposes!! I wouldn't do that anyway, just saying that if you are a regular user, like I am for pain, you no longer get the effects as you do when you first start smoking. Edibles do not help or do anything for my migraines. And neither do they provide a "high". Which is not something I want to experience anyway. I just wanted to try the edibles to avoid having to "smoke" marijuanna. So far, I haven't found anything else that comes close to helping with my migraines like marijuanna does. And I know my heavenly Father still loves me because I have a very personal relationship with Him. I believe it is a personal choice between each individual and God simply because it is not specifically spoken against in His Word. My biblical wisdom is that I'm not going to Hell for smoking pot for medical reason.

I have chrons and I even rationalize by it’s a anti inflammatory so I “need” it. But as believers we know we’re already healed so I must put my trust in God and use wisdom in what I eat and consume and that helps with living with chrons.

I think when asking the question of how Christians think about pot, we need to remain vigilant to the fundamental. Arguing that smoking is detrimental to ones health should be a moot point here, and I think is being brought up to make a case against it, rather than exploring its effects from a faith based - relationship with God standpoint. Now, having said that, I myself was an avid user in my early teenage years, and now have become more of a recreational user, so naturally my opinion is a little biased. But I would argue that some of my deepest revelations, and most profound conversations with the Lord have come from times where I have 'used'. As a stimulant it certainly expands our thought process, and I often find myself digging deeper into theology and my own questions, and often it leads me to some rather deep conversations with the Lord. Now like everything else, there is a season for it, and I would strongly discourage an adolescent, or those who may think its okay to be high all day long. However, within moderation, so long as you aren't getting 'blasted' I would argue that it has benefits both mentally, and physically, and that the data and research out there has been very 'tampered' if existent at all over the years of prohibition. Like everything else I think you need to discern for yourself, and pray about it. Using the apologetic argument of the 'pure bride' to me is unequivocal, as this was in reference to alcohol if I'm not mistaken, and the effects just simply arent the same. Especially with moderate use. I can certainly appreciate Todd taking the time to actually research this from a Christian standpoint, but I would urge him to consider both sides of the coin, and realize that the data present today is very biased.

I've used it for pain as well as other specific medical issues (when it was cheaper than using my insurance) -there's no studies on cannabis because that's under the Federal restrictions still/ up until recently. Also: pharmaceutical companies, heavily leveraged in the FDA & other national depts, have suppressed the various THC-'s (THC-A,B,C,... etc) as it will affect their $'s -users have compiled voluntary information on specific strains & their averaged effects. The tone of this still is a bit scoffing towards smoking; yet : I use it as oil extract, ingested, even months in between. it's herbal medicine. I don't smoke it. It has helped a situation that has been having major issues in my body; it helps reset an imbalance when it starts to get to the point of not being able to clearly funtion.. but that can be months between. I had a severe joint injury and applied the oil topically, not sure what to expect.. pain went away quite sooon, even while ice was limiting swelling, the pain didn't go until it was applied topically. I agree: it should not be a go-to for everything, but unless someone is already prone to addiction, and can be self controlled, then this is still a 'sided' publication.. CBD: also helps for many things, isn't psychoactive, and does better than Rx's for many people in various conditions. Alcohol is far less beneficial, yet it's promoted /advertised and available. Just like anything else: it's about responsibility to God, to self & for one's actions in the community /nation(legal) This __IS___ slanted, sided presentation, disappointingly enough.

Be great to have a pharmacist talk to marajuana. My husband went to a pharmacy conference on this. Yes not for children at all. Because of its illegal status there is not a lot of stringent research on it contrary to what people seem to indicate. Often there are substitutes for pain. Compounding pharmacist can make something to fight nausea. So marajuana can be substituted for. Ask your pharmacist.

I have witnessed first hand, children who have suffered debilitating seizures "BIG PHARMA" could do nothing about. So "NOT FOR CHILDREN?" So watch your child suffer, try to keep them from biting off their tongues. if it gets out of control call an ambulance. Some of these poor imagers of God were having 20, 30, seizures a day! Some mild, others horrific. After the administration of Cannabis the children would come out of their seizures and some have regulated their seizures to the point of having a normal life. But, "NOT FOR CHILDREN" at all is a decision that is neither helpful or productive.

In Torah it talks about HaShem making every green herb of the field for us to consume so I suppose in moderation weed is kosher just like alcohol and tobacco are in moderation. Excessive use of anything is not kosher or healthy. There are many health benefits from weed especially for cancer patients receiving chemo therapy and struggling with nausea and loss of appetite and for those with chronic pain so it’s use is like the use of alcohol as medicine in biblical times and in more recent history

Whatever is on this planet God the creator put it here for a reason. I have an Anxiety disorder and also chronic pain from an accident. Fully disabled. My brain never stops! It's like a roller coaster with so many thoughts racing through my head. I smoke marijuana 2 to 3 times a day. It helps my pain and anxiety. Best of all my brain stops racing. I am part Cherokee. The native Americans used it ceremonial as well as peyote. They know way more about mother earth than anyone else. I give my dogs CBD oil during storms or fireworks and it helps them so much. It helps tremors in Parkinson disease. Big Pharma knows the wonderful things it can do. They would loose $$$ but think of the jobs it would create! Taxes being paid, etc. This country could be out of debt in no time. The drug cartels would take a hit. I am more concerned about what we are doing to our planet than someone smoking weed. Nevada gave money towards helping the homeless with money made from marijuana sales. We are living in end times. Love & Peace. Thank you Jesus 🙏

Thank you for your time. I have a question. Why is it ok to consume alcohol (something that is man made) in moderation, but not marijuana (something that God himself made)???

Addiction and habituation are the enemies of insight. Sobriety can at times mean merely stagnation of insight in a needful place of perception, where perception of reality and reason are drafted into the service of a self-protecting view of the world, wherein the deeper insight is denied. Exposure - to different cultures, different landscapes, different daily patterns, and different states of mind - are key to insight. Is Marijuana totally safe? Absolutely not. Neither is sugar. These two are already, a few minutes in, on their way to conflating diliterious effects on the mind and body with what, by necessity, would be proscribed by the scripture, or the path to salvation. Following this logic - which gives no nod to matters of degree - we should be declaring alchahol off limits. Much (but not all) of the medicinal claims for Marijuana are troublesome (as a cure for anxiety for instance) but the same goes for some FDA approved prescriptions. These two are, though satisfying the instincts of both non-using Christians and those Christians and non-Christians who've gone too far with Cannabis and need a firm push out the door, and a hand held along the way, are making a mistake for the long term health of the religion, in terms of its credibility.

Ive never heard of anybody recking a car, beating their wife, dying of an over dose, or even kicking their dog when using marijuana. Cant say that about alchohol. And cannabis has been used for thousands of years. It ABSOLUTELY IS a very useful medicine and so many more useful things.

The Bible does speak on the act of pharmakeia which is to misuse a drug in a deliberate wrong way so to put the mind in an intoxicated state just like drunkeness implies. Medicinal purposes in micro amounts shouldn't be an issue.

OK, so if you’re drinking wine, why are you drinking wine? Isn’t it for the? If not what you call high at least to get relaxed? I mean, if you’re not drinking wine for some of its effects, you might as well drink water.

Before marijuana was legal in my country, the doctor prescribed a CBD pain reliever. An artificial marijuana thing called Nabilone. They said it was all CBD. it had no particular high for the mind. I didn’t find that to be so. I found that not only did I get high on CBD in so much that I could not socialize and that I felt like I was in a zone of my own, but it made me very ill. It made me very sick. So I called my pain doctor and told him about it. He was so anxious to get me off the opiates that he didn’t think to correlate my other medical substances such as antidepressants with the new synthetic marijuana product. Nabilone. So they took me off it. It was a long time after marijuana became legal that I decided to try it again. It actually does help with the pain and when I’m depressed not always but sometimes it helps with my mood just a little. And that’s all I need, just a little. Also, I’m using the whole product. The CBD the THC at all. I smoke it because it’s cheaper to buy that way. And yes, I am a Christian. Who has severe chronic pain and depression. I find I am using less opioids at least.

Ok, not sure if you will read this so long after the live stream, but I could not disagree with Mr. Miles more on his assertion that God's prohibitions on drunkenness are relative to marijuana use. Like alcohol, marijuana affects are correlated with quantities of THC consumed. If you make the statement that all marijuana use is akin to drunkenness, you must do this with alcohol. All alcohol use diminishes physical control, cognitive abilities and judgement, but the degree to which depends upon the amount of alcohol consumed. To say this is different from marijuana is simply wrong. This is most evident with increased intake. I have never seen someone who is under the influence of marijuana vomit violently due to over consumption. Additionally, there are some populations who have dramatic reactions to alcohol and far beyond those associated with pot use. It is frustrating to me when a self-proclaimed and non medical author makes clearly erroneous statements and then attempts to validate these with biblical text. Despite this, I am a strong supporter of Dr. McDowell and his ministry.

It largely has to do with the other compounds that he mentioned why THC has a range of effects. There are multiple strains of cannabis sativa and indica being two of them. Delta 9 THC by itself is fairly predictable

I use a hemp based ointment with only trace amounts of THC therefore I do not experience any sensory numbing side efects just an anti-inflammatory efect that reduces pain in the local area that it is applied such as elbow joint pain, it seems to help me so I think there is some medicinal use for hemp.

With medical marijuana, what would be the difference then all these other pharmaceuticals that just suppress issues and not help ? As well as they have very dangerous side effects?? Ps I’m not a pot smoker and I am completely against it, but I do see medicinal benefits for some people.

With all due respect, when he is commenting on the effects he has absolutely no idea since he is a non user so therefore its very simple to ignore what he is saying in regards to his opinion on its effect. Not gonna buy a book on someone who talks about dogs but has never had a dog in his life. He can state his opinion but unless he has tried it, it is ignored. A vast majority of cannabis users experience beneficial and positive effects include deep bible study, incredible prayer and in my case i will watch scripture from my church that i tithe with and am also in a weekly group. I am NOT a "close the bible christian after church on sunday" i am All In! I just simply choose to use cannabis over another devout christians choice for a glass of wine. And mine is ingested without smoking it as well.
