“This shows initiative” Doug throws in such great quips so often. Also, why is Doug always playing connect the dots in my mind? Always good stuff from Christ Church.

This explains soooo much and I'm a disappointed in the adults throughout my upbringing who never explained or even understood this. I can easily imagine that my kids will have a less bumpy maturation for understanding this.

I have always believed that it was the act of disobedience not the eating of the fruit that was the why sin entered the world. God could have said "don,t drink from that river and if they did the result would have been the same. The thing that I have trouble with is free will, does a person need to have knowledge of the differences in order to choose which path to take? If so than the "knowledge was already in them but they only became aware of the choice when they disobeyed God.

What was Eve’s motivation for her disobedience? She believed Satan’s “LIE”. “You will be like God”! Belief in that Lie caused the death of humanity just as God forewarned!

It was seeing the other person's AURA, as they actually are. No Tree. No forbidden fruit. The raising of Eve's kundalini base chakra serpent-force which leads to enlightenment. No Serpent. No God. No original sin. Only the Watchers, Angels with their flaming sword, being phasers and tasers to do the work for GOD. Blessings

Jer 23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. BDB Definition: Baal = “lord” 1) supreme male divinity of the Phoenicians or Canaanites (noun proper masculine)

Hmm, this sounds like a problematic message. Was it they took the fruit already knowing evil? I have never heard this position, and there is no way one can get this idea from the text. They disobeyed for sure, knowingly for sure but they didn't know the evil, that is false. The text clearly says that THEN their eyes were open. Not the first time when Mr. Wilson - admired by so many - made a claim that is straight wrong...

They already knew that it would be evil to disobey God, but they had not yet experienced the harm that comes from evil. They had the commandment of God not to disobey, as the result would be death, so they knew right from wrong. However they only came to know evil in the sense of actually experiencing it once Eve succumbed to the deceiver, and Adam joined her in transgression. They must already have been neglecting their relationship with God to have been vulnerable to deception and transgression. I suppose God had not made them aware of the rebellion of satan yet, but required them to trust Him and His warning against the harmful results of disobedience.

I wouldn't be too quick to assume that they didn't know what evil was seeing as Eve looked on the tree and saw that it was good before eating the fruit. If she could tell what good was then, she most probably could tell what the opposite of good was as well. Furthermore, the consequence of eating the fruit was the ability of their newly opened eyes to know that they were naked which is also the point they made when they were hiding from God. You would have to argue that knowing that you were naked is evil or the knowledge of evil... Doug's point of distinguishing between white and off-white seems more compatible with their eyes being opened alongside the examples given of the use of the same phrase in other scriptural passages. I am not already a proponent for this as I was not taught this as a young Christian, but I have learnt to prayerfully study revelations and teachings which have a logical and scriptural basis and I encourage everyone to do so.

@@ChristKirkWhy not repent of God's gnosis of good and evil? Then iniquity won't be found in you so you won't be a worker of it and you won't be asked to depart into outer darkness.
