This helped me make a christmas card for my mum at the last minute, thank you X3 Also you really do need to follow EXACTLY what you're doing, the pattern won't work at all with a different sized document.

Reckon you could a photoshop tutorial on a frost effect to make things look frosted over in some areas etc. or the actual screen look frosted as if the lens of a camera has frost on it

@8bitdigitaltv I used Hobo font too! But I didn't have to have global light on for bevel and emboss - it makes it look soft when I have that on.

I love your tutorials! For some reason, I had to have Global Light on for Bevel and Emboss in order for it to look candy-ish..but I used Hobo font. Anyway, looks awesome, thanks for the tutorial!

great effect all your tutorials are very impressive, always turn out great and easy to follow. How would you apply this effect to a picture? Make someone look like a human candy cane? I tried follow the same steps on a picture instead of text but just didnt look right.

how do you give an arc to the text afterwards while keeping the pattern straight ? When i merge both layers I lose text editing ?

Hi! I am having a few troubles: my snap won't work, even if I have it checked. And also the "define pattern" button won't work, it's gray and unactive. I only have photoshop 7 (I'm only 16...) and I wonder if that could be the problem? Thanks!

When I try to apply the background pattern, Photoshop gives me an alert box that says "Could not use the paint bucket because the disk is not available", however, I can still use the paint bucket tool to apply any background color like normal.

Awesome tutorial but man you talk fast. I was like okay click on the paint bucket wait you're adding a stoke now :D. Lots of pause and play but in the end it looks awesome.
