Why wouldn't Diana be upset, that no one appreciated her cashmere gifts, when no one even told her, what kind of gifts they would give each other. It would have been Charles' role to fill her in. Them gifting each other funny things, was because they already had everything they could want, since no wish would ever be uncovered in their lives. Diana came from the most important aristocratic family in Britain with lots of wealth, but she wasn't familiar with such a behavior and that's a good thing.

I don't think there is anything weird about the royals buying each other cheap practical gifts. They already have everything in the world so they don't want to be wasteful. To them it makes more sense to get jokey practical gifts and laugh and joke about it. I think that's pretty cool. Family traditions are absolutely beautiful. Diana wanted to do something more special and also nothing wrong with that.

I enjoyed watching this format even though there was nothing that hadn’t been said before. Back then one didn’t really know a great deal about the reality of life at the age of 19 plus Diana had the misfortune of coming from a broken family, the odds were stacked up against the poor young girl from day one.

This had 5 minutes about Xmas, and then inevitably filled the rest about Diana's sad life. Why are we still getting that in every royal family doc? I loved her too, but she has been gone for a quarter century, can't you let her rest in peace and cover the many other family members who I would love to hear about, for example, the princess Royal, her brothers, including Andrew, his daughters etc. These people are living and serving the monarch. We know everything about Diana, ad nauseum, and hairy and megain are not working members of the family, nor are they HRH . Please stop with your erroneous titles and call them what they are, rehashing Diana, volume 949😡

I agree completely. I would like to hear more about the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. I believe they work very hard and were a great support to the late queen. The Duke as Prince Richard of Gloucester qualified as an architect and intended to spend his life practising his profession, unfortunately his older brother died so he was required together with his Danish born wife to become a working member of the royal family. That’s all I know about this couple, I would love to know more.

Of course Ingrid Seward was never at any of the royal Christmas occasions and is just gushing on about matters she hasn't a clue about. It's high time she stopped bashing Diana as well. Royal Christmas traditions really started with King George III and continued with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Even Henry VIII's court celebrated Christmas!

I think the giving of presents on Christmas Eve dates back at least to the reign of Queen Victoria, rather than only to Queen Alexandra. This is a European tradition and was brought to the English Court from Germany.

Prince Philip and Lord Snowdon always resented the notion that they had to walk two steps behind and adopt that less important role but they knew their place and their duty not to usurp the attention being given to their spouses. Diana should have listened (or been given better advice). Still worse was to come with Meghan Markle. Catherine, however, does it perfectly.

Neither of them even knew each other and it wasn’t a forced marriage. She wanted a Cinderella Story and he wanted a future Queen his family would accept. They both deserved more than what they settled for. This wasn’t a one sided story. She didn’t even know Charles so she didn’t love him either. She had little to no experience with men. I don’t believe she even dated or had a previous boyfriend. They both had doubts before the wedding but it was too late to stop the Wedding. They’d both let it go too far to back out at the last minute. Sadly, they both paid dearly for the mistake of their marriage. There was two children which were the only either would ever have. It would be easy to blame one or the other but it takes two to make or break any marriage.

She went from dolls to being a wife and Mother. She shouldn’t have been married at that age with no experience. Sadly, I doubt anyone tried to talk her about life however. She went into to the marriage like it was a Fairytale which even if everything had been totally different wasn’t ever going to be. They had no business getting married but everyone makes mistakes. The next big mmm is take was her big interview which was the push that ended the marriage and her prospects of being Queen. Until that happened, she was still set to be Queen with everything that went with it.

Now Diana had visions that her husband would be faithful, and they would have a happy family and marriage. I call that realistic. After all, he did ask her to marry him. He married her to give him sons. knowing full well the age difference. Diana took time and thought at Christmas when buying gifts for her family, and she's being ridiculed for that. People from all over the world grew to love her as she grew into her own. That's why she will always be known as the people's Princess. ❤ He was a hard worker, a lovely man who did no wrong. Oh, except he was a cheat and very disrespectful to his wife. He should have been able to marry Camille and all of this would have been avoided. I can understand why Harry is the way he is. He learned to see his family in ways we would never see. He saw his mom in her sadness and learned to blame his father and the family for it all.

Harry can't remember about the problem with his mother and father. Prince William went and spoke to his uncle Charles Spencer. So he was more aware of things. Shame Harry's still got to stir the pot

It was rumored that Camilla helped Charles pick out his “brood mare”to have his heirs ..he was forced to marry someone he did not know or love. Supposedly he was with Camilla the night before the wedding and Diana found out and wanted to call off the wedding.Imagine going down the aisle knowing your new husband was having *** the night before with his true love.This does not excuse her future behavior or his..a very sad situation all round.

Exactly my thoughts. I get sick and tired of her pityplaying while being so fortunate! I really think that’s why Charles went back to Camilla, because of Dianna constantly moaning and pityplaying about everything! I never liked her very much.

How bad could these women be, when they better than we, knew what had been going on in their marriage. Charles used her for one purpose only. Once he had the son and spare to follow on he did not give a dam. Just carried on with his long standing affair. Yes she had affairs but probably would not have done if he had not been such a waster from before the wedding. He should never have married her knowing his selfish, depraved life was going to be a problem. She had to live her life knowing so many of the staff, family and people around her were lying and plotting to cover Charles back. It would have been terrible to live under the constant pressure. Now even after her death it's disgusting how they talk about her. It's heartbreaking how she was treated then and now. Rest in Peace, Diana.

I think when you have so much money you would intend to buy silly fun gifts. Dianna was too young to take on so much. Perhaps they should have had more to get to know each other time before marriage . It’s such a shame that she didn’t get to see her grandchildren. 💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏

Charles was always Jealous of Diana because she had a way with the public, she was a people person and the public loved her. Now that he got his own way and married Camilla, the public don't like her! Diana will never be forgotten xx

Charles never stopped his affair with Camilla as he was always in contact with her and always still seeing her, he wrecked the marriage with his indifference and uncaring attitude and jealousy and his infidelity,getting cufflinks from Camilla with CC on them😢

I couldn't get through it, so boring, nothing new, old footage. More like the Burrell show. I do not support this "documentary". The title is completely misleading.
