From Wikipedia: Greenwood composed the score for the 2007 film, There Will Be Blood... The soundtrack contains excerpts from "Popcorn Superhet Receiver". His work as the composer for this film was highly acclaimed by reviewers and earned him an award at the Critics' Choice Awards. On January 21, 2008, however, the score was declared ineligible for an Academy Award nomination under a rule that prohibited "scores diluted by the use of tracked themes or other pre-existing music."

Actually, if I'm not mistaken this music was made before Jonny was commissioned to do the soundtrack and he ended up incorporating a bunch of it in the score.

penderecki...a great composer, and teacher. I hope Greenwood's profile can help Penderecki gain greater recognition in the UK

This is brilliant. People might also be interested that he sampled himself (the pizzicato section just over half way through) in the collab he and Thom Yorke did with DOOM, 'Retarded Fren'.

One of the most epic musical sounds I’ve ever heard. Jonny Greenwood is a master. Or, if you want to be even more PTA-ish, he is THE Master :D
