Chthon is more than just the eldest dark sorcerer on Earth. He's an Elder God, sibling of Gaea (Mother Earth), Oshtur & Set. As such he's also related to the younger gods set to appear in Moon Knight (Khonshu), & Thor (Zeus, Bast).

The issue with this idea is that the MCU is yet to canonically justify the power rankings of the MCU. The celestials, the TVA, kang are all yet to be classified so its kinda hard for Erik to speculate about that bcos there's nothing to go off of

Maybe that's why Vision (Which came to life by an infinity Stone) had such concern for Wanda. The Mind Stone probably gave Vision so much universal knowledge than the Avengers could comprehend. Vision likely knew more about Wanda (The Scarlet Witch) but couldn't reveal that info.

Haha better than a Holiday Special. Also, with Cthulhu the correct pronunciation is Kthool-who, not kuh-two-loo, to be as close as our non eldrtich vocal chords can do So if you follow that naming convention it would probably be kthoon, if its also a long vowel, but eh, doesn't matter haha

The Elder Gods spawned by the Demiurge (Chthon, Gaea, etc.) are huge parts of Marvel Comics mythological history & were instrumental the creation of many of the god pantheons (Asgardians, Olympians, Heliopolitans/Egyptians, etc.) With Thor Love & Thunder coming, I can definitely see Marvel Studios laying the groundwork for a major influx of Marvel gods.

With Eternals and Shang Chi shows us the Genesis and the Multiversal-Mythological beings, And Moon Knight having Khonsu a god, then Thor 4 also has Zues and Bast and also Dr Strange with Dormmamu and Chthon. Hmmm I like the detail that worshipping Chthon gives you dark fingertips. Back in Dr Strange, worshipping Dormammu manifests as dark eyeshadows, plus his symbol on your forehead. I wonder what other dark make up tricks other demons and elder gods will give you if you worship them lol.

'Chthon' is not a made-up name. It's from Greek mythology, meaning deep earth. (Chtonic means all the monsters and dark gods from the underworld, which is where Englehart probably got the idea to use the name.) And it's pronounced "K-Thon".

In the comics, out of all the elder gods, he along with 3 others were the only ones to survive the demogorge, other powerful magic users like dormmamu invoke his name to cast spells, he was the original creator of dark magic and chaos magic, and it was said that if he managed to escape his dimension thst he would be a threat to eternity.

(Nothing personal) Chaos Magic doesn’t really have a creator, it kinda manifested into the cosmos on its own. Chaos Magic existed wayyyyy before Chthon, he just discovered it. It was referred to as “The earliest primordial glint of cosmic understanding and happenstance” by Dr Strange. Strange also said that Chaos Magic is the oldest form of Magic. “The improbable, impossible spark of life flaring up, that was Chaos Magic”- Dr Strange

While I have no doubt that Chthon will appear in MOM, I just really don't get why everyone is so insistent that that image is him. Maybe in one of the panels in the comics he looked that insectoid, but everyone keeps using the main wiki image for Chthon, so just from what these videos are showing, that looks nothing like Chthon. It looks more like the Brood or part of the Annihilation Wave than Chthon.

He will most likely appear in a flashback when Wong is telling Strange that Wanda is the Scarlet Witch, or the picture is a statue that is within the Darkhold castle.

@@natsohigh5552 No, not necessarily. Other books that Wong has read could have featured the Scarlet Witch in it, the Darkhold just happened to be the only one we’ve seen. Plus, the plot leaks say that Wong tells Wanda where to find another Darkhold, which is in Wondagore mountain.

what if zombie strange is not, at the point we see him, strange anymore. maybe instead it's one of the strange variants (probably evil what if strange) who wants more power or something like that and opens the darkhold, and the scene we see is cthon taking over his body fully, and then afterwards we see him transform into his true appearance

Its defender strange body being taken over by cthon. Last part of that is a guess but its def defender strange body you can see the suit and ponytail flapping when hes climbing on the mountain top
