@@hoos3014 this isn't to do with the editing but with the writing. Kenobi felt like a story that was maybe 2 hours long and stretched out to fill a six-episode series. Acolyte will have a similar number of episodes to Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka, so I'm concerned that Acolyte may end up suffering from pacing issues.

I was thinking that too, especially after going back and thinking about how the showrunner said they’re taking a new angle on the Jedi, and all the stuff about the super controversial thing that apparently will happen in ep 3 that will split the fandom more than even the Last Jedi

That's honestly some of what I was hoping to see. I figured this Jedi Order would be a bit more idyllic in promoting galactic prosperity until something in the story happens that begins a gradual shift into their more disconnected and aloof prequels state. It's likely the sith in this era are working the long game to sow seeds of doubt and insecurity that their later proteges can continue to exploit.

There is a hook. We dont know these characters and their story, so we are trying to learn it here. The question is whether that hook has a strong enough of a pull or not. A lot of fans will never get that hook because their standards and hate are just absurdly high at this point.

My theory is that the four jedi were the ones who started the fire on the twins homeworld under orders, that is why the meditating dude commit suicide (he couldn't reconcile with his past actions) it also explains why sol is so attached to Oisha, his guilt making him feel like he needs to care for her. Perhaps the reason they started the fire was an accident, they were sent there to kill Mae because she had force abilities, and yet they sensed the dark side and the fire was set off in a scuffle. I'm guessing the dark side user saved Mae and told her that her sister was killed in the fire, telling her that he could train her in the force in order to enact revenge for her sisters "murder" by the jedi. The Jedi attempted to cover up their attempted child murder by saying the fire was started by Mae.

I honestly think Kenobi is way better. The Acolyte has some CW level acting, and I was excited for this show. I’m disappointed. Glad others liked it though.

I fell out of love with Star Wars with Obi wan and Ahsoka failed to do anything interesting in its last 3 episodes, keaving me depressed. I hate Star Wars now. This show is STUPID. How does a JEDI MASTER get killed by anything other than a Battalion of trained soldiers or a Sith lord?!?!? ABSURD. Also, the Jedi aren't even Jedi in this show. They don't follow the principles we know Jedi to follow.

So are you saying 8 episodes is too short or too long? Are there any fillers? Some shows don't even have enough story to fill 8 episodes so they pad it. Also I enjoyed Boba Fett and Obi Wan was okay too. Neither was terrible. Didn't enjoy Andor so much and Ashoka was not terrible not great. Overall there are no bad shows.

True, this won't be Andor level as least from what I've seen, but it's definitely topping all the other recent Disney Star Wars garbage spilt out nowadays. It seems like when they don't have an established character to just rely on fan service with (i.e. all the newer titular series named after said characters), they realize they actually have to write a coherent story with a half-decent plot to make up for that.

This is a good succinct descriptor. I went in hoping to see drastic improvements and instead felt the sting of disappointment. I don't know how you have a premise that requires tension and a focused pace and still rush through it, clumsily knocking into plot points. It's like it's bored and tired of itself. I'll watch the whole series and gladly eat some of my words if it ends up making me feel something, but let's not kid ourselves.

Yeah I think the jedi robes are just one of those things that you can't really translate well into live action unfortunately. They look pretty good in the books and comics though

The Gold/Yellow robes are some supposed to look clean due to it being the High Republic Era the jedi were at there height and everything wa pristine

I don't really understand you fans. The sets looked great. I've been a huge fan of Star Wars my entire life, and yet I don't get hung up on these not looking 100% exactly like the movies I grew up with down to the dirt stains on a Jedi's robe. It's made by different people with different technology, and focuses on things that are not in the original movies. It's impossible for it to look like the original movies. And even if it did, that would be so boring. Why does everything need to look the same?

@@AshanBhatoa I think with the visual aspect they may be referring to the overuse of the volume. As good as it can look there's a lot of times where its very obvious the background is just CGI. Kinda gives off a flatter appearance in certain lighting.

I don't expect good things with Disney Star Wars they're always looking ahead to the future, never minding their current project, what they're doing so it almost always comes out half-baked unless its expected to be a standalone one shot... and if its successful after the fact they milk to set up other projects until they revert to the aforementioned mentality.

Its ok, I actually enjoy BoBF and Kenobi more than most people, though neither is perfect in any way. The Acolyte feels just very average. Its almost feels like a high budget fan project in some ways. The fight choreography and effects are good, the characters and writing are mostly average, and the Jedi often act very stupidly. I'm hoping for better in future eps.
