The King of Rock n Roll? You know Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard both proclaimed themselves as the King of Rock n Roll. Chuck Berry never did, Elvis never did, in fact he hated to be called that. I suppose if you are a fan of one or the other then that one is the King, but like a good rock n roll fan, you like them all and you never use the term King of Rock n Roll for any specific one. They were all great in their own way.

It's been said that Johnny Johnson was the heart of Chuck's band. Saw him play at that club in Mill Valley about 20 years ago. Incredible talent.

To me hearing some artists for the first time was stunning or perhaps revolutionary when I hadn't heard anything like them. It was like that when I heard Hendrix and Queen for the first time. I didn't know what to make of them, but then I became big fans of them. I suspect it was the same with Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley.
