Chuck E. Cheese has announced that it will be removing its iconic animatronic bands from all locations, except for one in Los Angeles. (Nov. 12, 2023)

80s kid here: I didn’t hate the band. I just didn’t care for them. I preferred playing the games. Later when I was in middle school I discovered regular arcades and went there from then on.

They should at least save Pineville Matthew’s Road too. The entire fan community wants Pineville to be saved but CEC is being stubborn. Pineville is such a good stage and is on the east coast whereas Northridge is on the west coast. I don’t get why corporate doesn’t understand the bicoastal argument. Pineville and Northridge are the only two stages that we want saved and then we’ll be satisfied. Plus, Pineville arguably has more of a history. Those animatronics were once the Rockafire Explosion at ShowBiz Pizza Place and have been there since the early 80’s. CEC should’ve never said that more of these retro stores are off the table.

As a person who lives in Charlotte and has this as their local, the quality of Charlotte-Pineville right now isn’t very good as it was a few months ago. Some people resigned and gave up and it’s not the best quality, but it would be nice for CEC to fix this

This is super nastalgic for me even though as a kid I didn't love the band there was something about it that was fascinating. When I took me kid there 8 or so years ago I felt the same watching it. I feel this thank will cheapen the experience like most things today

I grew up going to Chuck E. Cheese’s. I went anytime I got good grades in elementary school an for some of my cousins birthdays. Lot of memories. Sad to see the biggest spotlight of the place to go (the animatronics) it’s honestly quite sad and pathetic to replace it with a huge wall screen

Well I have now completely lost interest in Chuck E Cheese again because of this. The restaurant chain isn't the same without the animatronics. I feel bummed because I was just starting to get interested in the restaurant again as an adult because of the game "Five Nights At Freddy's".
