I like it. Actually. I like it a lot. I Love it I have there or four different ideas that I would do to it but other than that it`s beautiful. from Michigan USA 8/12/2022. I just wish I had room to bold a canoe in my trailer. already have table saw in my kitchen drill press bench sander air purifier so on so on. I don`t know anybody building anything Cause I sure love precision craftsmanship. really like what you all doing thank you much. just thought I`d send some love your way

Boat looks great. It looks like it is the Chuckanut 12 standard design and not the 12s? I thought the 12s was a hybrid. From Dave Gentry's site, "The Chuckanut 12"s" is a hybrid version of the C10 and C12. She shares the same frames and narrower beam as the C10, but is 12' long. This boat will be more stable than the C10, and the easiest boat of the three to build. The Chuckanut 12s also shares the longer cockpit of the standard C12. It looks like the tan color skin kayak that you have paddled in videos is the 12s as the cockpit in that boat is longer than standard. I only mention because I am thinking of building the Chuckanut but not sure which way to go, standard or the 12s. Thanks for your great videos. No one does it better for small boats in nature videos. Love them.

The blue one is indeed a 12s. I built it first for my wife, and got to try it out myself before starting the next one. It's perfect for her, and good for some of my friends, but was a bit tight for my almost six foot frame. Mine is the 15, and that's perfect for me and the kind of paddling I do. Not as nimble as the 12s, but tracks well in lakes and swamps, with plenty of room for a cooler and gear, and very stable. Both boats are easy and fun to build, and a real pleasure to use. We've put many miles on them already. This year I glued a strip of tire tube to the bottom edge of bow and stern. I had a lazy habit of gliding right up onto concrete ramps and the frequent abrasion worse through the skin there. And added a coat of paint to the blue one. Otherwise, that's all the maintenance in two years, and the stay outside in the weather all year.

Very nice.... How easy is the transport on the car?
@eyeinhand2 жыл бұрын
Very easy. The boat only weighs 25 pounds, so just lash it to the roof rack and go.
