Synopsis:
Rakesh (Abhishek Bachchan) is a man of schemes, ideas, invention and restlessness. His small town begins to feel too small for his King size plans.
In another part of India crinkle nosed small town girl, Vimmi (Rani Mukerji) doesn’t want to become just another young marriageable girl. In her mind she is the “Miss India” that the world can’t get enough of.
So, they decide to fly the coup.
Somewhere along their individual journeys, Rakesh and Vimmi meet. And in a moment of mistaken truth, the legend of Bunty and Babli are born.
And the world gets turned on its head!!
We follow the duo through caper after caper, in which they are spiritual gurus; bureaucrat and secretary, gangster and moll; business partners; hen pecked husband and pregnant wife, vagabonds and caught-in-a-downpour lovers.
We watch them run rings around rajahs, power brokers, shaadi bandwallahs, millionaires, investors, leaders, ministers, elephants, explorers, hoteliers, chai boys and one very very upset policeman, DCP Dashrath Singh (Amitabh Bachchan).

I so agree with you. The lyrics has magic and the way they brought up this movie and this song especially was heart touching. Till date this chemistry gives goosebumps and after the new generation has come, its all about one time watch for most of the latest movies. Wont be surprised after some years later they would remake the same song and fool the new generation then.🤔

Right? I just watched Bunty Aur Babli 2. It was ok, funny and all but just not as good at the first one and try as I might, I couldn’t put Saif in Abhishek’s role. Bunty aur Babli is a brand and Abhishek was part of that brand.

What a beautiful eastern romance is picturized in this song with zero vulgarity and how glamorously female beauty is captured in saree with real indian dusky makeup instead that of white washed make-up/filters , pure eastern look announcing that beauty doesn't need nakedness with such a meaningful lyrics , soft voice and light music . She was not in love with him lol it's a baseless rumor, Rani's a very good actress so it's easy for her to create good chemistry with co-stars who are her familiar friends, and abhishek was just her friend nothing more. If he had been more than a friend, she would NEVER say she hoped to be invited to his wedding- which girl would want to go to her ex's wedding??😅 So stop spreading baseless stories created by the media. All the Bacchans admired Rani's acting talent that's why all 3 of them did movies with her and praised her skills. The falling out was only because of Aishwarya who became their daughter-in-law / wife and it was she who had an issue with Rani over Chalte Chalte, but that was not Rani's fault it was the producers' decision. SRK said Rani was the original actress for Chalte Chalte but she declined, then role went to Aish second, but Salman trashed their set because of breakup with Aish, so to avoid further troubles they had to replace her last minute so they asked Rani again and she came over to save them. Anyway, now it's been many years and they seemed to have made up, Aish Rani were seen in a group selfie and the families visited each other's houses at events.
