I wish I would have known about them when Rik was alive as I am old enough to have been able to see them back in the day. I'm glad to know he is still getting new fans even after his passing. I met Rik Mayall once and he was just the same in real life as on stage, just giving his fans exactly what they wanted. He was a genius and is greatly missed

I honestly love how when Adrian says "I'm beginning to understand why Stephen Fry fucked off," Rik's first reaction is a burst of genuine, uncontrollable laughter - the only time in this whole reel that we hear him laugh like that, and it's at his own expense - but as soon as the crowd laughs along and starts clapping, he realises they heard and got the joke too and immediately gets this look of egg on his face, knowing he's just been publicly roasted. If it had happened in rehearsal, I like to think he would've kept on laughing for minutes on end.

I loved Bottom when I was a kid. My dad and I used to watch it together. It's amazing the chemistry that Rik and Ade have. I loved Rik Mayall as Lord Flasheart in Blackadder. He will be missed.

Rik was a genus.... I have never been upset when celebs die but then rik died and suddenly I feel a loss. He didn't give a shit he did want he want and he always owned the stage.. I only wish I could have seen him live.

I am literally so grateful for growing up with these two legends... Started watching bottom when I was far too young but I swear it gets funnier with time. The young ones, comic trip, filthy rich and catflap.. I love it all! Rik was one of the one of the best in my opinion... Funniest man to have lived.

I am 50 years old and I grew up watching Rik Mayall in The Young Ones and Filthy Rich And Catflap and The New Statesman and the Bottom tv series and these live Bottom shows and other things as well. Rik is very sadly missed.

For all his comedy genius, which it was, Rik's acting is often over looked, he really was a great actor who could do anything. God I miss this man, he made me laugh more than anyone every could, apart from maybe Eddie!

I was 11 when Bottom first hit the TV screens but I didn't actually start watching the series until after I watched the first Bottom Live. 30 years later it is still the funniest live comedy show/play that I've seen. Rik Mayall is such a legend and although I never knew him he was one of those celebrities that when they die you are so gutted and genuinely upset about. Rik and Ade were geniuses together and just knew how to work the crowd. Phenomenal show, series and comedians.

It's also supported by a later comment from Adrian at 9:26 where he says he's catching a ferry to Belgium, as Fry also went to Belgium after leaving the Cell Mates show.

Rik's a LEGEND! So sad I moved to this country too late to see him in person. Good thing they have so much recorded though.
