I believe that the original movie revolver was not a Colt but a Great Western Arms Company, made in Los Angeles. Colt suspended production of their SAA at the onset of WW 2 and did not resume production at the war's end. During that time western movies were very popular and the prop houses needed a supply of SAA revolvers which were becoming scarce. In 1954 Great Western started making copies of the SAA knowing that there was a demand in the movie industry. John Wayne appeared on the company’s catalogs through its entire run. He was presented with two sets of engraved revolvers, one of these sets he used later in the 1976 film The Shootist. Audie Murphy and Mel Torme were other endorsers.

I live just south of Tucson and in September there was an announcement on the local news that old Tucson was going to close down indefinitely because of the covid pandemic. Ownership is going to be transferred to the county and they will decide what to do with the town if the covid panic ever subsides. Very sad for those of us who grew up near it and were able to visit frequently to walk the streets that The Duke strolled down....

Im always thinking of getting a gun and flip flopping on it then you post a video of that EXACT gun. You've made me get many, GP100, Rock Island 1911, Ruger Mark 4, to list a few. Keep up the quality content.

I believe some Cimmaron revolvers have a factory 'old age' finish. I've also seen them in mirror blue-black finish, as well as nickel-plated and basic bluing. They also have nice one-piece wood grips, like a colt original.

The same revolver in all the Cogburn movies. It really got beat up. I like it. Might have escort one home. I really like the cowboy guns. Super fun to shoot as well. From old cartridges to the new ones, love them all. They work. Gunsite has a course I will take once they let us out of covid mania for defense with a single action revolver. I carry a single action at my ranch in 45LC. Powerful or soft, depending upon how you load it. Hits about a 2.5" group at 25 yards, but that is the shooter not the gun. Have taken "opportunity" hogs just walking around in the early morning with it. (Yes, they end up in the deep freeze and get eaten.)

I'm a guitar player and I love "reliced" guitars. People hate on them: "put the wear on yourself!" But I love the look and the feel. This is totally the "firearm equivalent"

Hey. Did you know that in a movie I saw on Netflix yesterday (RATTLESNAKE) there is a scene where the Girl is in the Desert and is looking at a video on her phone with you on it explaining a GLOCK.

I just acquired this exact same 6 shooter from a raffle at my local lions club! I have to admit I'm not crazy about the grips, (maybe bone white) but now I know why they chose that color. Can't wait to get it and shoot it! I have seen the old John Wayne movies and did not know that this was a replica of the gun he carried. How cool. Thanks for the video 🤠
