Climb aboard ex-NKP GP30 CRC 902 for a cab ride on the Cincinnati Dinner Train. On May 1, 2021, we traveled the entire Dinner Train route from the boarding location in Bond Hill to the end of track at Oasis near Sawyer Point in Cincinnati, Ohio. All trackage is part of the Indiana & Ohio Railway's Oasis Subdivision.
The train shoves down to the boathouse so all footage is looking away from the direction of travel. Train speed down to Cincinnati is 10mph or less, so the video is sped up 6x real time. This condenses the 12.5 mile trip to just over 16 min. Audio is a mix from the Oasis trip on May 1st, as well as a previous Ohio Rail Experience excursion along the DT&I in 2019. The ORE trip was traveling along jointed rail at approximately 25mph which better matches the sound of the sped up video (though the Oasis sub is mostly welded rail).
A special thanks to the Cincinnati Dinner Train & Cincinnati Railway for making this video possible. For more information about the Cincinnati Dinner Train, please visit their website: www.cincinnatidinnertrain.com/
