The price is ... nice to meet you .....

I recently picked up the starter kit from bb&s lighting (you can see prices there - i have no affiliation with them) and gotta say I'm loving it so far. I have just been using it with the aputure 120d and the fresnel2. Plan on getting the leko attachment too. It feels a tad expensive for pieces of aluminum, but it is also a niche product that doesn't have a huge following at the moment.

@Jonathan Murphy hey bud, i am still testing them. My initial tests show that they can reflect all light because they are of course reflective surfaces. However they don't work great with unfocused light sources. They're beauty is in the extreme control you have of the light when using a focused light source. Sorry i can't be of much more help as i am still testing them. But i wouldn't light an interview with the 15cm ones.

@Jonathan Murphy again not sure if it will, for now my tests are very minor at this time. As for mounting, there are a ton of things that could work. Magic arms and crab clamps or super clamps work. Search for CRLS on youtube!

I went to the web site for Cine Reflect and there are no prices, yet. I would love to try out the starter kit. It looks like a great way to light scenes in small spaces as well.

How is this different from Dedolight's Lightstream?
@Avidcomp2 жыл бұрын
CRLS were first. They then worked with Dedolight, and Dedolight developed their own. I use K-Flect with Dedolights.

@@Avidcomp I do like the thinking behind it. What background do you come from? Did you find much of a learning curve?

@@KarelBata Me to. I have 25 years in broadcast. And yes I'm still learning. I acquired my K-Flect and Dedo's from 2014.

@@Avidcomp It's a return to hard lighting. Everything's lately gone soft with all these new panels. Don't get me wrong - the standard of lighting has shot up, and using soft units has a lot to do with that. Hard can get messy and brash, but also has its own qualities that soft doesn't.
@Avidcomp2 жыл бұрын
@@KarelBata That's a really good point. I think the way one might think about lighting is whatever we're doing, as we move the lights and shape them, is ask what significance and purpose does this have on the narrative. Additionally because so many results can produce a good image, is have a "house style", meaning consistency throughout.

So.. overpriced reflectors
@Cagliostro855 жыл бұрын
when you can find reflectors that have 97% reflectance and 100% color rendition, as well as having a controllable spread, give me a holler.

Daniele Napolitano I see their value.. still overpriced though
@Cagliostro855 жыл бұрын
Jon Fraser overpriced? Relative to what? Their manufacturing costs? Or relative to the cost of their competing brand’s reflectors?

@@Cagliostro85 it's called a mirror... Modifiers can also be placed before or after the reflection for even more control than this system...
@Cagliostro854 жыл бұрын
Xtreme Dummy I can understand you being confused by these reflectors, probably because you’ve never used them. One of the great advantages in using this system is that you can dispense with “modifiers”.
