Did your version not have Baxter's subtitles? Those are the best. Baxter: Leave these people alone. They mean you no harm. Bear: We Bears are a proud race. They must pay for their intrusion. Baxter: On my journey I met one of your kind. His name was Katow-jo. We became friends. Bear: Katow-jo is my cousin. Go in peace. Baxter: I will tell tales of your compassion. Bear: Fare thee well, Baxter. You shall always be friend of the bears.

Sometimes, subtitles required for specific scenes are included in the overall film's subtitles; some people don't like subtitles, disable them and as a result, miss crucial dialogue in films

I recognise these subs but don’t remember seeing them in my last watch. For me it’s due to the fact that I watched a pirated version, the app always misses out any subtitles for most movies unless their turned on.

I started running studio camera in a newsroom in the late 70's while I was in college and this movie brings back so many memories. Sometimes it's closer to real life than you might think. We had our male anchor and our sports anchor get in argument one night about something just before the final sign off story, and after they said good night with big smiles, they went to the newsroom and started beating the shit out of each other. Same anchorman got caught in a strip club one night and caused a local scandal, and a different anchor one night didn't say his name in the open because it was blank on the teleprompter. Good times.

Old era , Finland most productive comedy maker , started as news rooms worker , he even had a tiny role in a cop movie , before he started his own company . They had a talk show and were chain smoking (typical in 1970s TV) and next week they got package full of Camel tobacco ... thats how ads worked in ad free TV in 1970s

@@sparky6086 I guess it’s probably because the weatherman is a meteorologist, and the sports guys are usually pretty good with statistics and the like with analyzing players and teams. All the anchors have to do is read from a teleprompter.

I was studying journalism and some lecturers shared a few similar stories, including cameraman lowering his pants just to fuck around with the female newslady while she was making an interview. They were talking mostly about the 90s, so I guess not much changed until then, I guess it's not happening that much anymore.

I think it was either an interview that was included in the special features or I seen somewhere later(maybe around ELF's release) that Will Ferrell is a big fan of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and his performance of Ron Burgundy was inspired by Ted Knight's Ted Baxter character off the show(Ron's dog Baxter was also named after the character). So yes Simone you are right in thinking of MTM show with the whole 70's setting.

I see Simone and myself seem to have a similar taste in music. Since the rock scene in the US is. . .mostly dead, or at least in a coma, I'm wondering if you have delved into the Japanese scene. It's amazing. So many talented bands, and most of them are all female. Here's a couple of suggestions - BAND-MAID, Gacharic Spin, Trident, Hanabie, LOVEBITES. BAND-MAID is my favorite, and have the widest sound, covering several genres from rock, punk, metal and pop. Check out the songs 'Dice', 'Domination', 'Endless Story', and their latest 'Unleash!!!!!'. Cheers!
