The rooms match in this way: Fire / Explosion Room - Army Woman (fears explosions and fire after war) Reindeer / Ice Room - Antagonist (killed that other guy for a jacket in a cold place) Upside Down / Falling Room - Zoey (fear of falling from heights because of the plane crash) Hospital / Poison Room - Glasses Guy (carbon monoxide leak) Illusion / Hallucination Room - Ben (impaired driving, intoxicated) Crushing Room - Bigger Guy (survives a mine collapse) The Rudolph hint didn’t make the reindeer room Ben’s as that means the poison gas room would have also been Ben’s due to the sign language. They were just hints AIMED at Ben.

Also, from my understanding, the theory of survival of the fittest doesn't apply here, since the deaths here were more bad luck and poor circumstance, like a natural disaster. If it was a more consistent problem, like a permanent change in the environment, the theory would reply.

Everyone is assuming only a cup would work. I'd have pulled the jug off the cooler, put the mouth of the jug onto the coaster and then put some kind of weight on it. You'd only need a 1/4 of a pound since an empty 5 gallon water jug weighs 3/4 a pound, and a pound was the trigger weight since those glasses could not have been more than pint glasses and a pint is a pound the world around.

yeah frost melts under finger tips because it's thin. If you touch solid ice, the surface begins to melt, but then you have water between your skin and frozen ice, which refreezes the water, that's why people's fingers and tongues stick to things that are too cold and it's a good way to lose skin.

In a way Escape Room is commenting on modern media where we pay ludicrous amounts of money to watch people kill each other, live out overly-dramaticised fake lives, or make fun of others in often stereotypical ways. Cabin in the Woods was similar though it was more a jab at the cliches of the horror genre and the people who come to watch. In a way, both movies mean to exaggerate both situations because exaggeration and disingenuousness appeals to modern media. And it seems disingenuousness extends beyond media.

@Death Omen I'd go so far as to say it is not a new concept based on the Roman gladiatorial games and all that jazz. Audiences have always been entertained by watching others struggle for their lives. Humanity on the whole is pretty bloodthirsty.

This movie reminded me of this one time my family and I entered a real escape room. It was from a small company and they forgot that they left us in the room after it closed. When the time ran out, no one had entered the room to let us out. And all of our "hint calls" were used up. So we had to escape ourselves. We kind of just guessed everything. When we left, we realised it was closed so we called the number of the escape room to let us out. It was kind of jarring after watching this movie.

Unless Ben told people what song was playing on the radio when they crashed which I highly doubt bc it’s not that important of a detail to the story how would Minos know what song was playing if he wasn’t involved in the crash? Also wasn’t Ben high or drunk when he crashed how was his memory of that accident so crystal clear and remembers everything when he was clearly on something so how does he remember the exact song that was playing when he crashed?

Honestly, I always believed there was a supernatural element to Minos. We're not just dealing with powerful, rich people. No, I thought this was a good vs. evil story where the antagonists are carrying out the devil's plan. If you look at things that way, the omniscience and scifi technology make sense.

11:27 last room was Mike's room! Like the walls getting closer, trapped in a small place that's supposed to reference the mine. So basically, room one was about Amanda (with the fire), room two was about Ben (the rudolph thing), room three was Jason (the jacket and the ice), room four was about Zoey (the upside down of the plane), room five about Danny (the gas), room six about Ben again (idk why) and room seven about Mike

All of the rooms had a little piece of each of their characters. Like the first room had that mug with the plane on it for Zoey, and the snow globe with the boat in it for Jason. Also the ice room had the compass that I think Zoey had with her on the plane. And the room with the drug trip was meant to represent Ben's alcoholism and the fact that he was drunk when he got into that car accident. But obviously they couldn't force them to drink so drugs through contact was the next best thing/feeling lol.

I'm epileptic, and when I saw this movie in the theater, there were no seizure warnings anywhere in the building or before the movie to warn me about the insanely long strobe light sequence from hell. As soon as it started, I had to shut my eyes and keep them shut for over five minutes until my best friend told me it was okay to open them again. I'm totally okay with strobe light effects in movies if I'm properly warned about them (because I understand people can enjoy them and they can be pretty cool sometimes), but the period of time it was used in this move was way too long and unnecessary.

Yes. Anyone who doesn't science might think that this is nitpicky or easy to miss, but Euler invented more formulae and shit than anyone in the history of the world. His fucking wikipedia page says that they started iNTENTIONALLY calling some formulas by shit other than stuff like "Euler's Theorem" because it was *getting too confusing since there was too much shit named after him*. Anyone who sciences much, even a bach degree, would know how Euler is pronounced. It's shocking that nobody on set caught that.
