Ocean's 8 or Ocean's Eight? Eh, it doesn't matter. This movie is just okay. It was totally unnecessary and has tons of sins. Good day!
Next week: old-timey sins and fighting sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

awesome George Clooney's right hand man in Ocean's 11 was Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt was in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Cate Blanchett as his love interest. Cate Blanchett was the right hand woman to Sandra Bullock in Oceans Eight. Sandra Bullock was with George Clooney in Gravity.

@3:38, I am a bit shocked that you didn't get this one, so to answer your question of what that line means: When she mentioned that a her gets ignored and a him doesn't she is not talking about the focal point being women at the MET Gala she's talking about when the jewelry does end up going missing (due to the sexist nature of the society we live in) The security will be, by instinct, looking for a man and not a woman because again"women get ignored". They wouldn't think to assume a woman stole the necklace. So that line of dialogue makes perfect sense and I found it pretty genius when I first saw the film.
@chocolateangel3176
@chocolateangel3176 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t agree with this because if jewelry or anything that can fit in a purse goes missing security will check women (because purses) and men (because pockets). Also rather than sexism isn’t better to look at statistically who carried out more high profile crimes?

Another very important sin you missed: diamonds are fricking heavy. During the whole movie they keep repeating over and over how heavy the necklace is. So when Anna Hathaway gets the fake one back, she and the security team should have noticed that it's now light as a feather, considering its 3D printed
@Bluecrow642
@Bluecrow642 5 жыл бұрын
I'd like to add several sins for the 3D printer. I can tell you that there is no 3D printer capable of printing cubic zirconium that is not only crystal clear, but also has no build-lines or defects, has no support structure that needs to be removed, and in several different colors at once. The 3D printer that they used, which was pivotal to the heist, is far too technologically advanced to exist.
@SaffariRose
@SaffariRose 5 жыл бұрын
Actually such exists! I literally just saw an exhibition at L'ecole school of jewelry arts on the Tavernier's lost diamonds. All the replicas on display were 3D printed zirconia including Louis XIV's large blue diamond, based on scans from decades old drawings from the time. All were ridiculously crystal clear it had to be mentioned severally that they weren't real. It was in collaboration with Van Cleef & Arpels. You can look up the exhibition.

The reason for the jpeg, is because normally, you'd inject a payload with such a filename. say it was mp4 (video format), that would still play a recording, not a live feed. so the jpeg is inconsequential, it is merely the filename of the payload that was injected to the victims PC, so i would actually give them a thumbs up for a well researched and well delivered detail that most people would overlook. Most of the payloads that are injected are in image format actually, second being zip and then exe..

I watched Ocean's 8 before I watched Ocean's 11, and thought it was pretty good. And then I watched Ocean's 11. And saw how this movie is a carbon copy of its predecessor down to the CONVERSATIONS. Plus, Ocean's 13 was way better than this. And that's a second sequel to a movie that in no way required any (although I do really like the entire trilogy).

Missing from this movie: Emily Blunt I absolutely love this movie, I must have watched it about 22 times already. And analyzing the plotholes were as fun as the movie itself. Having said that, you forgot about a few: -Zirconium is way heavier than real diamonds so there is no way they didn't realize the necklace was fake when putting it back (and noticing it didnt have the magnet anymore, but you did mention that) -If they evacuated the whole area how is Constance able to hide in the men's bathroom for so long even during the sweep -Where did Amita and Constance get the time (and resources) to do their hair and makeup before leaving the ball? -The whole heist was being operated from a Glorious Food truck. Why were Lou (supposed to be at the ball's kitchen) and Nine Ball in a much larger falafel truck? -Why was Daphne Kluger doing her OWN makeup for the Gala? Impossible that this would happen -If the bus boy was the only guy walking through the blind spot, how come security didn't analyze further footage and noticed the darn necklace in the tray? -How come Tammy was not held as a suspect? She was the one who found the fake necklace. Same goes for Rose, who was the one convincing them to take it out in the first place. -I don't think Anna Wintour's first assistant is the one you go to, to discuss Gala matters. They have a separate coordinator for that. -We never got to see Penelope Stern at the Met Ball. She should have been there, right? -You are right about the movie forgetting about Yen's share and splitting the money 8 ways. But what about the four elderly actresses? They should have gotten a big chunk as well. -The part about Constance discussing the heist with Lou and Debbie IN FRONT of the Subway attendant -Most Germans speak good english and wouldnt be native-tonguing their way out in a place like New York City.

John the King Robinson Ah, there are worse movies out there. Yes, the investigation epilogue was not the best idea and the movie would have done better digging more into the main heist instead. And yes, there was a lot of convenience for plot to happen. But honesty, the original trilogy also had a lot of convenient things happening for the characters, not as much as here, but still. The cast is likeable, the story is fun to watch. The movie is nothing groundbreaking or anything and it was definitely not a must see in theaters, but for a bit of good entertainment, it was perfectly serviceable imho.

YOU are the reason women can be integrated in those movies. Because YOU see them as needing help and etc. So YOU'D be the guy fooled by these women, allowing them to be the perfect theives they want to be..,therefore not needing a man. See how that works? I'm not saying women are superman or anything, but the fact that YOU see them as weak, is what gives them the advantage in this situation of a movie. The force awakens was an attempt to erase the old and bring in the new wave. So that was bullshit. This is just a movie with women with the same premise. Not a takeover. Idk why Hollywood persists that if you respect women you have to let them remake a classic movie and you have to like it! Like that’s not the problem, people respect women, people love women, it’s just if you’re going to make a movie about feminism that was previously movies that included all men and that’s what people got used to for the oceans movies, like Matt Damon and George Clooney and etc. like if you want to make a successful movie with all women why doesn’t Hollywood actually Put some effort into creating something new instead of plastering women onto a whole different franchise. It doesn’t make sense to me. Like just stop making movies that have been replaced by women when they were previously men, it does not work. If you want a successful movie with women, make a new story, for real for real. People don’t want to see a movie that was part of a franchise that had actors people got used to and became part of the reason people love the oceans movies but then replace all the characters with women. It just feels like a knock off, it’s just the same as ghostbusters, it’s not good because you don’t have the original actors, it’s like taking pirates of the Caribbean and after the 3rd movie with Jonny depp you just replace him with a different actor and expect the franchise to work the same, holly wood needs to get its head out of the toilet

There's a ton of movies that completely contradict this theory though? Like Mad Max: Fury Road is considered the best Mad Max movie and nobody cares that Tom Hardy replaced Mel Gibson. Harry Potter replaced the Dumbledore actor because he died, Game of Thrones replaces actors all the time. And yeah Brad Pitt and George Clooney weren't even the original actors to play the characters in Ocean's, because that was also a remake of the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin Movie. And Pirates isn't a good examples because nobody has cared about those movies in years, and the entire world is really tired of Johnny Depp's "act." Also when Hollywood makes original movies telling women's stories the comments under them are just calling it feminist trash anyways so.... I guess nothing matters since you love and respect women, like you said.

She's Charming in her own way. She plays characters appropriately as the movie demands but there's always something "Anne Hathaway" about about the portrayal. Let me express it this way, she never becomes monotonous in her characters like Jonny Depp (single note) nor shes ever so lost in her characters like Daniel day Lewis that you don't recognize her as a person/actor NOR she's so average/middle of the road that she's imemorable, she's always attractive, memorable, vividly represents/acts the character but there are certain mannerisms (or you can call it Anne Hathaway-isms) that only she can pull off and she does in indeed pull off to leave a distinct mark on the characters she plays. Does that mean she's the greatest actress that will ever grace humanity? Probably not but to those individuals who are attracted to her and charmed by her aforementioned ways, it's just too good feeling (for them personally) to not take the sin off. Doesn't mean you even have to notice or like her ways? No. you can even hate her if you want. But as I do and cinemasins does as well, we do enjoy this a lot.

The worst aspect of this movie is that I legitamitely forgot I even watched it. I saw this thumbnail and thought "did I see that?" and it took me a moment to remember; it's pretty forgettable. And I saw it in September. Not terrible, just nothing special. Good if you have a large group of ppl and want to watch something you don't have to focus on too much

I watched this with 2 friends, but only one of them was extremely hypes once we exited the theatre. And she was wondering why the two of us weren't enjoying the movie as much as she did.

It always amuses me when characters in cop shows and movies like this go to very public places like restaurants to discuss super secret details of the case. Details that could be overheard by literally anyone within a few metres.
