Out of all the bts from countless movies I've seen this is one of the wackiest set dynamics ever. I would've killed to be on that set...too bad I was 1 years old.

I never thought they do things like that on big budget films.

I loved this movie it wanted you to be like what is going on..like the 7 1/2 floor lol it could have been a normal office setting but spike was like ummm nah. Katherine Keener didn’t think she was right for Maxine and that is exactly why she WAS perfect for Maxine.

She was perfect indeed. Right mixture between the sexy, cool, funny girl and the ice-cold bitch. 7 1/2 floor was a brilliant idea, as it adds a surreal, bizarre touch and visually illustrates how the office job can weigh one down, make one a slave. Further, the claustrophobic feeling it creates contrasts with Lester's manor or Malkovich's roomy apartments. Adds a lot to the overall aesthetics of the fillm.

I am pretty sure Kauffman wrote 7 1/2 into the script.
