8:09 Cuarón debió practicar con este diseño de auto para años después hacer la escena de la persecución en Children of Men

Just a quick note for whoever edited this. When Vilmos mentions Brian DePalma when he lists the names of the people who were key to the American New Wave, the picture that flashes is not of Brian De Palma, it’s actually of his assistant camera man, Michael Gershman who worked together with Vilmos on many projects including Brian DePalmas BLOW OUT from 1981. Not a big thing but a small note.

What a masterpiece of a movie! From the lighting, cinematography, choosing the locations, the music, the acting, the dialogue. Beautiful! It maybe isn't Schrader's most personal film but maybe it's the most beautiful.

What a joy to listen to the process. I saw The Innocents as a boy upon release in the early 1960s. I recognized even then, how special this film was in every way.

As one of the free content providers in this case I 'm thankful that the majority of comments here recognise just what we set up to happen and the freedom with which Robert Schaefer made available his experience (which is contained in the first statement of intent). In a sense the rest of what happens (apart from the information delivered) is about osmosis - how he delivers what her wants' and how he gets to his goal and the 200 person audience soaking that up. During this whole week-long shoot no one was paid - from Oscar winners to students - and the crew is made primarily of students (the sparks were paid and freely gave advice to students about how to be on set and how to enable the DP to achieve what they want and need). As the week went on, the student crew and student directors got better at their jobs - naturally, because doing under tutelage illustrates theory every time.

The continuity was really bad. The scale of the Space Jockey navigator chair was completely wrong and small compared to the original.

I wouldn't have believed that green screen + digital is NOT cheaper than building these things. But I heard Ridley Scott saying it.

Incredible. Prometheus is vastly underrated. The effects and visuals are overwhelming. On my list of "33 movies you must see before you die" on the internet movie data base.

All this effort for a movie which, let's be honest, you'll walk out of the cinema thinking that was good but then forget about it and get on with your life. What's the point?

Generally yes, but sometimes a movie sticks with you and you watch it again after a few years. I watched it 3 times and I loved it every time. One of my all time favorites.

One of the 1970s great films, and one of Altman's as well. Fascinating to hear Vilmos discuss this film, and his work on it is staggeringly beautiful. I've never forgotten the suicide in the surf - so incredibly surprising and sad, and yet so startling in its beauty,

It’s so funny to me that you what a comedy director give an interview it’s the most humorless and serious conversation. Meanwhile every William Frieidkin interview is hysterical and full of levity despite his very serious filmography.

WALL-E was the first sci-fi movie i ever saw in theaters. i was 7 years old when it was released back in 2008, and to this day, every time i watch WALL-E, i can remember sitting in the theater 7 years old and being transported, they wanted to make this movie as if it was made in the 1970s being shot with Ultra Panavision 70 cameras which have anamorphic lenses wide screen aspect ratio and a 70mm filmed photographed look, and this movie inspired me to make my own Sci-Fi movie I'm writing about.

Schwarzenberger shot some of Fassbinder best looking movies. Even though Michael Balhaus is much more known here in America, and his work with Fassbinder is brilliant, I would rate Shwarzenberger's work with Fassbinder on the same level.

Every interview Donna Deitch does about the movie is every bit as rich as the movie itself. Thank you for reliving the history ❤️. You all made it look so easy when I'm sure it was extremely difficult. But you achieved perfection in every way. The audience felt like we'd moved into that ranch right along with you. We were invested in the outcome. And one other thing: the little humorous pieces tucked into the film were absolutely brilliant. One of my favorites was the farmhand saying to Cay: "How you get all that traffic with no equipment is beyond me." Absolute brilliance. Thank you all. I was about 30 when the film was released. I had been out since 1974. I went back to that theater to see it every day for about a week. Each time I saw something new in it. One of my favorite films ever. ❤
