Excellent interview by Mohan and Suhasini. 80’s Tamil cinema was really a golden period in Tamil Cinema. I moved from my home town to Madras for college study in 85. Kamal and Rajini films were very popular then. One of my classmate was a serious and die hard fan. There were comparison between Kamal and Mohan in cine discussion but some friends discounted Mohan against Kamal. This guy used to fight with others not to discount Mohan. He is no more now. Interesting interview. Nice to see Mohan after a very long time.

I saw the first film in Kannada in Saphire theatre was Kokila and Mohan and Kamal pair was fantastic. Mohan became a super hero in Tamil and his musical films with the combination of Ilayaraja, SPB is evergreen and blockbuster.

18:10 - Mohan's career had 3 PILLARS: 1. Maestro ILAYARAJA's non-stop rain of MUSIC (95% of his career. 18:33 - Mohan said it right. Ilayaraja NEVER had any bias) 2. SPB's golden voice 3. S. N. Surendar's dubbing with softness / perfect sync. 4th comes his improved acting post mid-80s. He deserved the title "Mike Mohan" doing excellent lip-sync for songs as if he was the singer. My favorite movies: Mouna Raagam, Paadu Nilaave, PayaNangaL Mudivadhillai, Magudi, Udhaya Geetham, Idhaya Koyil, Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu, Kunguma Chimizh, December PookkaL, Nenjaththai KiLLaadhe, and Naan Paadum Paadal. In Uruvam, it was an unexpected role which he did quite well; IR's background Score was spine-chilling. Pallavi Anupallavi was composed by Ilayaraja for 20% of his usual remuneration to encourage a new director.

Yes, pallavi anupallavi has a few tracks of agni nakshatram if I am not mistaken. Mr Chandramouli..... Not the best of mani sirs movie. Had the chance to see the movie in 1989 after agni nakshatram. Experience????
