A remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden for the Nintendo 3DS.
On the continent of Valentia lived a pair of sibling gods, Mila and Duma. These two gods fought a savage war over their conflicting ideals, before finally forging a pact to divide the continent into two. Afterwards, two nations-Rigel and Zofia-were formed around these gods. In the coming millennia, the continent ushered in an age of peace. Happy Hawlucha I feel like they seem more like Awakening characters actually. Funny, quirky, not particularly serious. And I don't mind that. I liked Awakening and l like them, but they don't seem to match the tone of Echoes from what I've seen

Maage It's strange that Emma and Randal are on a replica of an Alm map (and I guess also a Celica map, later on) and Shade and Yuzu are on a replica of a Celica map when it seems like team composition would favor the first pair for Celica's route and the second pair for Alm's

Maage You're not wrong, but I don't think it would've killed them if I'm paying for it. I think they could've added them to actual maps though, instead of replicas, unless they really thought the ability to pick which team they join was really important

Honestly, I think the biggest determining factor for which peeps go where is whether or not Faye is a Cleric. That is, if Faye isn't a Cleric, then Shade has immediate utility as Alm's Physic user. Celica and her swampy desert-y maps appreciate her, too, but Celica already has Genny for Physic and a bunch of secondary healers. After that, it's much less clear cut. Both Emma and Randall are welcome additions to either army (Emma moreso for Celica and Randall moreso for Alm), and Yuzu's niche of basically being a magic Archer is... neat, but not exactly spectacular for either side. I suspect that Yuzu (and Shade to an extent) could be a great candidate for Pitchforking into Cav or Peg, but I haven't experimented enough yet. All this to say that no matter what you pick, it will objectively be the wrong decision and undoubtedly ruin the game for you. Toodles!

Ya, only use I got out of that DLC was the chapters themselves and supports.. They're severely outclassed by almost everyone and can't imagine them being useful in Thabes.

Le Dom Yeah they were only useful if you have them in the main game. Emma was more useful then Clair on Alms Side so I stuck to her and I took her to Thabes.

I love Randal, he's such a good. Imo, all the cipher characters are great. It's nice to see IS still knows how to write good, original characters. (believe me after fates I was more than a little worried, but those fears have been assuaged for now)

Well Emma, Shade, and Yuzu are actually considered Fates characters if you ever read up on their bio. Randal on the other hand is considered a character from Binding Blade.

I gotta say, it's interesting to see solid arguments made for giving either pair to either team. For this playthrough, I'm personally sending the spellcasters with Alm and the lance fighters with Celica, but I'll be sure to try it the other way around in a future playthrough! Personally, I'm just really glad that they're all worthwhile, as are their weapons. I was a little concerned at first that they'd all just be mediocre at best and not really worth bothering with aside from just the novelty of having them, so I'm glad that those concerns seem to have been misplaced! I was kinda hoping Shade would get some Arcanist spells as a nod to her origins as a Dark Mage, though. Kinda disappointed that's not the case without making her an Enchantress.

Thanks for putting in so much work to get this video out. I hope you know it's immensely appreciated. Rest up, man. You've earned it. I gotta say, I love that these characters finally have their time to shine in one of the actual games. It's a shame Yuzu's first debut had to be in a game where we can't see her full potential as a swordmaster, but out of this whole cast, I'd say she's still my favorite. I can already tell I'm gonna pour far more effort into her than I need to just to make her the ultimate sword-y mage. Although I also found myself absolutely loving the kind of dynamic Randel and Emma have. They manage to be both comedic and genuinely touching, and seeing Randel try to be a ridiculous lazy dad is the best.

honestly seeing how they play . the trainer lance benefits alot for the barons way better than another class since you never expect a baron to double anything that dosnts have like 6 speed and lower . the warriors sword is better off on any character with better def . and as for shade and Randall. Randall really seems to just be better than Any other paladin minus Conrad while shade just has better timing in celicas route. there all great but if I had to pick the units I would use. that be shade and randall

I'll never understand why people don't just Pitchfork Yuzu. Her absolute bonker growths make her the game's strongest Falcon Knight. They're high enough that she can survive and get last hits as villager to 10, hold onto pegasus till 10, then just wafflestomp everything. To make her more ridiculous, give her a Cancer Shard during the grind. -10% atk growth, +50% def growth. She'll have over 25 defense before promoting to falcon.

I wish they had worked these characters into actual maps (maybe one of the random battles that had no exposition) instead of keeping in a DLC world. I also find it weird that Emma is a Falconknight when the Whitewings aren't. It would've been fun to get Emma early and train her (and maybe reunite her with Randal later). Also, why can't they all support each other?

I like to put Emma and Randall on Alm's route as Alm could ABSOLUTELY use a second flier while Randall just has a natural fit as a wanderer knight joining a soon to be conqueror. Plus both lances are a boon for any of alm's 10 lance users. meanwhile Yuzu and Shade fit with Celica's anti-monster and mage heavy campaign. Shade will make a great fit as either army would benefit another sage with utility spells... Yuzu. ain't great with either but at least her sword will be a nice addition with Celica's band of Myrmidons.

Tried reclassing yuzu because that spell list is less than desirable, made her a Pegasus knight and.... 32 attack and 35 speed should not be a thing as a level 5 falcon knight good God (her defenses are still ass but she's basically a nuke)

4 years late lmao, but I’m doing that rn. I managed to get Randal and Emma during chapter 1 and Yuzu and Shade during chapter 2. Randal definitely is a unit to send out if you’re in a pinch, because he’ll destroy enemies. Yuzu also can be a heavy hitter. But now I’m on chapter 3 and I can already tell Emma isn’t killing enemies by herself. Shade also has the problem of only being able to attack with Nosferatu, which never seems to hit during my playthroughs. I do think Shade works incredibly well on Celica’s route, though, as until that point, I only had Genny as a healer

Wow thanks for the info, as I'm trying to decide who goes where right now in a second playthrough. I came to the opposite conclusion though. Alm's route desperately needs more magic users and healers throughout the game, and Celica's route is already burdened with low movement mages. Plus the warrior's sword dealing additional damage to armors doesn't have much application on Celica's side. And I want Valbar to have the solo triangle attack weapon since he seems to have trouble carving a niche in Celica's route, while Emma can carve through the armies of terrors like any of the other potential falco knights. But I think this choice being so difficult was totally intentional. The two groups should excel in either route.

Andy some clases give bonuses and reductions to some growth. that modifide growth is what you end up having with said character with said class.

I understand what/why they did what they did with shade but idk, maybe having her default spell Miasma or a conjure witch spell would of been cool (considering that she is a Nohrian mage) but the silence and physic with rescue does allow me to play more aggro so I shouldn't really complain... just be happy she's in the game

Thoughts on reclassing Yuzu? If you make her a Pegasus Knight she ends up very similar to Est except she actually has availability (potentially). Cavalier would fix her bulk but be severely hindered on Celica's route.

@@TheElementsAreWithMe You can leave both Faye and Kliff in Ram Village on Alm's route if you don't recruit them at the start of the game and have Celica go straight to Ram Village before going to the Castle and starting phase 3 to recruit them into her team. Or just leave one to even out the units between both sides.

Good vid. I just have to get this out. I just hate Shade's Spell Learnset. Who the HELL at IntSys thought that it was okay to give her Seraphim at level 7, while ALL THE OTHER SAINTS get Seraphim at level 1?! By the time she gets to that level, she gets basically outclassed by all other Saints in the game anyway, since her bases are all pretty meh compared to other Saints, and her growths don't do her much good. Freeze and Silence are way too niche to justify her slow grind in my opinion, and her growths aren't anything to write home about, either. At least she has Physic and uh... Rescue memes...? Yay...? whothefuckevenusesrescueunironically Overall, she's only good if you invest in her quite a bit. And she really NEEDS to be in Celica's group to be of any use, since at least she'll be another Physic user early on.

Who here doesn't even worry about stats cause they have Star Jacinths? All my level ups were all +7's im 50 hours into the game and maxed all but my DLC chars on Ch.1 with a Luna and an Astra I pulled from Inner Sanctum

Ok I know this doesn't entirety purtain to the video but is it possible if someone who beat the endgame of echoes on hard, to kinda discuss with me and help me with strategies to beat it? Cause it is hard as balls for me and I'm super stumped. I don't want to talk about it in the comments because I don't want ruin it for Ghast but I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me some tips because I swear if Alm dies again I'll probably break my 3DS in half Thanks!

Lucas Gillette Silque's invoke and Tatiana's fortify. Duma wont be able to move and will be too busy fighting the illusion dreads so Alm can keep shooting him with scendscale. As for jedah, I used multiple dread fighters and finished him off with heavy draw. Fortify will help to counteract upheaval.

Liezuli Thank you! I beat it and Slique's Illusions diverted a lot of the attention away from my units and Tatania with fortify was also helpful. And btw I kinda just ignored Jedah. Since he wasn't attacking unless attacked I surrounded him with my units and when he summoned I just killed them. And Duma moved it scared me really badly

Liezuli It's fine the only thing that really sucked was that after he got down to like under 50 hp he stopped attacking the illusions and started attacking my units. I had Python in his range and Duma got an 8% crit and I had no turnwheel uses RIP my heart and Python

As much as I'm all for new characters...They seem out of place, I don't know if it's the way they look or the fact I'm so use to the units already established in the game. Is it just me that feels this way? I mean, I like their designs - mostly anyway, very hit and miss in my opinion - but they just seem...odd.

Yeah, all of them look very out of place. Randal has some REALLY strange looking haur and portrait. Emma would fit in the game the most from them all, imo, but she has has that..Bunny ears...thing? Yuzu literally looks like Lute from FE8, only with a more Anime style face. Shade... i don't know what i don't like about her look, but i really don't like her design. I'm just talking about their Design here, because their abilities are for anyone to judge for themselves.
