This video explains the causes, signs and symptoms of cirrhosis (liver failure). It dives into the pathophysiology of the complications of portal hypertension, peripheral edema, ascites, hepatic encephalopathy and hepatorenal syndrome. It further discusses TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) procedure as well as liver dialysis and liver transplant as treatment options.

Thank you for all of your videos…Are you able to include the pharmacology(all medications) with each disorder when you’re talking about the nursing care… Please🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I have seen many pts with cirrhosis due to excessive alcohol intake. Many of them also suffer from HE, which is very sad :( Thank you so much for this great vedio!!! I always enjoy your lectures!
