Very good and informative video. Thanks for the video. Many historians like Jadunath Sarkar and Ramesh Chandra Majumder etc used the first method i.e name & year system of citation. However, Wikipedia uses the last method i.e citation order system. The alphabetical order system is a totally unscientific method.

Question! I'm currently using a book for my research paper. The book uses references from other sources (such as articles, letters and other books) to prove points and provide evidence. So.....do I need to also cite those sources in addition to the book or do I just cite the book? I hope this question makes sense. It's been a long time since I've done a research project. Thank you!

The question you should ask is what is the original source And you should cite original author If you donot find the original source, then only you can do something like C et al cited in B et al or something similar to that

Hi Chiizu, you have to paraphrase even if you put the author's name. Otherwise you have to use quotation marks.

Hi Ninja That’s a different style where you assign number in body and write the reference corresponding to that number in final section of the paper
