I forgot to mention, this is also shock resistant and antimagnetic up to 4800. This watch is truly up for anything. Bring it on zombie apocalypse!

I think this is the perfect field watch. With 200m water resistance, sapphire, monocoque case, the durability of the capacitor and the case and bracelet is fantastic. Mine is two years old now and still looks like new. This watch ruined all other field watches for me. I got rid of my Hamilton shortly after buying mine. It will probably outlive me. I recommend these or a g-shock for anyone looking for a durable watch they can punish without worrying.

Love this watch. I have the blue version and have reviewed it on my channel, and it really is one of my favs. Love titanium watches! Great video, really well shot!

I have the green version of it, which originally came with a nylon-rubber strap of sorts, but I bought the original bracelet for it and am now I really enjoy it. It’s not like it’s unscratchable or so, but looks pretty nice and a monoblock case is pretty unique

Great all around watch and quite the strap monster. I wear it on the bracellete most hot days but prefer a nato when i take it on a hike, not only is it lighter,but it looks great too. Purchasing a single pass leather nato for it later on. Only negative is that I find myself reaching far less often for my other watches. Since I don't own a Seiko diver I have absolutely no complaints about the lume. This watch is legible 100% of the time.

I like this watch a lot - except for the hands. And I think it'd be difficult to change them. Right?

Yes it would be difficult as everything has to come off from the front in order to access the hands

Does this movement use a capacitor or battery? People seem to use those two terms interchangeably

These use a capacitor as it can accumulate and distribute power, so capacitor is the correct terminology.

I've only ever owned 1 Citizen and I ended up hating the fact I could see through the dial. The EcoDrive sounded to me like a great idea and in the store you couldn't see this drawback. In the bright sun however it was a disappointment. I ended up putting it in a drawer for months and when I went to use it again, it was permanently dead. I only found out later you're not supposed to let the charge completely dissipate. Since then I've only owned automatics. If this watch came with a domed crystal and automatic I'd pay $600 for it.

You should be able to charge it up again by leaving it in the light...a couple of minutes will give you a 24 hour charge. If you live in a very hot climate don't expose it to the sun for too long.

@@Michael-us9rq I tried that. My research at the time seemed to be that once it goes uncharged for a very long time, the battery chemistry degrades badly.

They have been discontinued but they often come up on eBay, watchuseek etc. some are even new, as of today (02/23/22).

Even better, get the version sold only in GB. It is the same watch, however it has arabic numerals, and a bracelet and case that are 100% titanium; not just “titanium plated steel” like this one. The British version also has 300m water resistance not the 200m of this watch.😊

I think this is a great watch but it probably didn’t sell as well as they hoped. I checked the Citizen USA website and it does read “discontinued”.

It’s top loaded, there’s a small gap at the 6 o’clock position on the bezel to open the case. The capacitor is supposed to have an 80% power retention after 30 years.
