It’s official. Every song Citizen Soldier makes is perfect. Not that it wasn’t obvious before

As a writer who suffers from bouts of depression, I adore that line "I'd like to speak of love and all its glory, instead I write it out in sadder stories." Had huge anticipation for this song, and I absolutely was not disappointed.

"Im feeling dead inside but im too afraid to die" Honestly, its pathetic how much I relate to that line, I've debated ending my life so many times, I've even made plans for it, but I always back out of pure fear. Thank you Citizen Soldier, thank you for making songs that are so accurate to how my own situation and how others feel. It makes me (and im sure others) feel that we're not alone, expecially during the chaos thats happening currently in the world. You guys are an amazing band. Thank you. "I dont feel at all how I did when I was young" Is a line, that is just as powerful and relatable. As a child your carefree without truely understanding everything that's 'bad' about the world, but as we grow older, nobody tells us how much everything changes that nothing is like the childish fantasys of dragons and princesses, Instead its cruel with violence and heartache and agony that hits you like a truck.

"I don't feel at all like I did when I was young" Strange how the agony, misery, and suffering, seems to not exist when we are born. But then reach a point and for some of us, it never ceases to cling to our hearts. Thanks, Citizen Soldier, each new song is nothing but feeling sympathized with. I hope the day you die you can die happily knowing you helped people feel they aren't alone.

Man the line of “I’m feeling dead inside but I’m too afraid to die” just nails the feeling exactly. Thank you for the music you post! Just the fact that it speaks so accurately to mine and others’ situations I think gives a sense that you’re not truly alone and someone else knows how you feel even when you’re too afraid to talk to anyone about it. And knowing you’re not alone is so important.

Most people just say “thats just a bunch of loud noise” but to someone who goes through a mental struggle they are currently fighting a war all while trying to make others happy and for somebody like me your music keeps me sane throughout every heart wrenching second of it. I am very grateful y’all are still releasing songs and wish I could give back to show my gratefulness since words are honestly not enough. I may just be some American amidst the millions of others but I am here I got your backs. You ever need someone just hit me up and we can talk. Everything will be ok. ❤️

man... it kinda hurts how accurate this song is to how i've been feeling ever since anxiety and depression really started sinking in, especially when i look back at when i was a kid and just... ask myself where i went wrong, what did i do to end up being the mess i am now trying so hard to just. stay alive and stay afloat. but it also feels so good... like a scream to let it all out and show all the tears and frustration to the world and actually being heard for once thank you for your songs, all of them, i can never thank you enough for what you're doing, they have gotten me through times when i didn't think i was strong enough to survive

I love songs like this. Sad lyrics but so upbeat or rocking in the music that I can relate so heavily without feeling sad. Songs like bullet by Hollywood undead and now gunshot lullabies are some of my favorites. Thank you for the gem! What a great early birthday present🤘🏾🤘🏾

My depression took back over this week. Feeling over it all, wanting everything to end but scared to. I play your music nonstop, and this is another song that perfectly captures my feelings. Amazing band, I love you guys

I am in treatment for complex PTSD and have trouble expressing and labeling exactly how I feel. Every citizen soldier song describes it perfectly in a way I never can. I am grateful for your music and others you are helping.

The fact that this wasn't on top of the charts deeply saddens me. This world doesn't deserve you, but it needs you like nothing else. Your music and the way you get your point across is unparalleled. For the greater part of my life I've been listening mainly to extreme metal music and thought that it encompasses all my feelings. Bit late to seeing the music video, but listened on Spotify over and over again, I’m glad I found this band early because this is the music I can grow up to and tell my kids about when I talk about the greats. Also, I want to say thank you to the band, reading your comment on my comment really helped me feel semi important, I’ve been thrown away by a lot of my friends and some family for my mental illness, and it was nice seeing that people who are busy took time out of their day to write a response to me, it’s so cool that you guys go through the comments trying to make sure everyone feels important, and trying to respond to people who need it. Thank you for posting this, I have a couple of tears streaming down my face because this song spoke to my soul. Thank you Citizen Soldier, godspeed friends.

I feel like it's so relatable to a lot of people. Especially introverts and college students. Introverts are dealing with a world where you have to be social all the time and it can be hard on their mental health because they don't feel normal. As for full-time college students, they have to deal with life after graduation. Jobs that could only take on people with a certain amount of experience. That can hurt even now. As horrible as that sounds, those are the challenges that we face every day.

From someone who is very emotionally distant, the "i don't feel at all" part really hit home. Then again, great song, I'm always hyped as soon as I see a new song pop up on your story, great band and I can't wait for your second album when you get around to it

A lot of people deal with their own inner demons and I'm no different. when I was 8 I lost my best friend in a house fire on Christmas eve, 3 years later I lost my great grandparents, when I was 14 I lost my grandfather and a great aunt at 15, at 17 I lost an uncle to homicide, I thought that in order to end all of the pain left behind from that I had to end myself and I actually tried a few times, I've been battling my inner demons for a while and I don't think my battle is done yet but Citizen Soldier is helping me get through it. Thank you and keep up the amazing work!!!

Dang, this describes living with trauma (or the effects of trauma) for me. Especially the part where there was no face in the mirror. That hit hard.

I absolutely love not only the song but the video. Both of them do so well in describing what major depression feels like and as a writer of stories who literally just got done writing one a month ago about struggling to survive through such depression(with the help of a friend), "I'd like to speak of love and all its glory, instead, I write it out in sadder stories" was super powerful and hit me right in the core. I often deal with my own bad thoughts, using my stories.

Growing up makes our child hood memories fade. This is why this song, this work of art is so appropriate to the times we live in now. Great work men, another treasure you have created 👏

Mess of Me and Gunshot Lullabies are my favorite tracks on this album. Every lyric from those two songs hit my daily existence. This album talks about such sensitive topics in such a way that you can sing along. These songs can be such coping mechanisms for people that are suffering such pain, and I can sing along and still enjoy the song when I’m not feeling down. Amazing job as always Citizen Soldier, can’t wait to see more!

Remember when you're young, you used to dream of how to make others feel the same happiness that you feel by sharing it with them, but now, you're trying to find that same happiness you used to feel. Theres something about this music that catches my attention. Out of nowhere while coding at work, this comes on after finding weight of the world a week ago, this one hits hard and home too bc for years until I fought tooth and nail to change life, this song illustrates my everyday. I actually felt this way to this song that it actually made me cry a lot and I’ve never gotten help from my family, friends or even a therapist and I wish that people that have depression your not alone, please seek help, seek glory in this world you live in and live your life with pride, happiness and seeing others are with you and so am I. I just really wish I had gone to see help from people but I was just too afraid because some people would just ignore or just say “get over it” you can’t just ‘get over it’ you need to push and learn from your experience from your life. This week couldn't be better Monday I turned 23 plus we get new music from citizen soldier i remember I was depressed after losing my mom I was checking out music on montage rocks channel I clicked on the video for buried alive the lyrics were so real I searched you guys up on KZfaq and I'm pretty sure I listened to everyone of your songs your lyrics are real and emotional I'm sure your music has truly helped alot of people like it has for me and everytime you guys release new music it's wonderful reading the lyrics that are so real that are truly full of emotion
