Citroen DS Sydney to Adelaide Australia

Bought a 1974 Citroen DS in sound condition, but in need of a Restoration. Live in Adelaide South Aus and the Car was in Sydney NSW some 1400 Km away. Flew to Sydney, Caught bus to Train station, caught Train to meet up with Phillipe and his son Phillipe. Phillipe owns a few of them including a beautiful fully restored concourse "Goddess" So on a very hot day we drive the 34 year old DS from Sydney back to Adelaide, driving throughout the night. Life is for being Crazy and doing things on a whim! Bmac

Hi, i drove my 72 DS three times from Tallinn (estonia) to Budapest (hungary) this summer. it is a dsitance of 1700 kms. Consumption 8,5 l on 100 but the avereage speed was 90-100, no highways in poland... No problems at all, except the last 500 meters!!! of the 5100 km-s, the distributor contact points were gone, very cheap replacement (3 euros). I bought the car in may. thanks for the post.I bet you saw the "Goddess of 1967" : )

I've seen it, well, my girlfriend liked it :). It was on youtube in parts as well. The story is similar, travelling through Australia in a ds. I think it worth watching.

Driving on the Sturt Highway at night is a BIG no no. Too many kangaroos jumping out on the Hay Plain & the Riverland. Anyone is crazy driving at night on that road!

Well I suppose we must be crazy then? We picked the Kangaroos out of the self levelling headlights. But seriously, I have driven this road probably 30 times, I have driven Aus outback most of my life. I am very aware of Kangaroo's and the threat they present. We saw Zero roo's on this trip.
