LYRICS
Well I've been down to Georgia
I've seen the streets in the West
I've driven down the 90, hell I've seen America's best
I've been through the Rockies, I've seen Saskatoon
I've driven down the highway 1 just hopin' that I'd see you soon
Cause I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I've never been to Alaska, but I can tell you this,
I've been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it ain't worth shit
I've been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax
I'll never take any pictures cause I know I'll just be right back
Cause I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I've seen a palace in London, I've seen a castle in Wales
but I'd rather wake up beside you and breathe that ol' familiar smell
I never thought you could leave me, I figured I was the one
but I understand your sadness so I guess I should just hold my tongue
But I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I know that we're takin' chances, you told me life was a risk
but I just have one last question...
will it be my heart or will it be his?
I'm comin' home

This reminds me of my best friend, we haven't had contact for almost 10 years and I didn't know he was struggling in life. He played this song for me on acoustic and I found out recently he committed suicide. Always check in with your friends. Don't go too long without making sure they are okay. You never know what they are going through and how much they might need you at any moment.

We played this song at my brothers funeral during a slideshow. He loved City and Colour. He was taken too soon at 21, killed on his motorcycle. This song breaks my heart for him... all the places he planned to travel to and never got to. His life was taken in a city he hated and couldn't wait to leave. He's home now with God and hopefully has awesome views of all the places he never got to see in life. We miss you Matthew. I can't wait to see you again

All the references to Canada in this song make it the most nostalgic thing ever for me. My grand parents are from Sydney, my grandfather worked in the mines there for years. I've lived in BC myself and have been on HWY1 a number of times. County road 90 is less than an hour from where i live now in Ontario, its just odd for me. Was never into city and colour but i always liked this song because of that.

I just got back here in Florida last week from two months of traveling and exploring the U.S. I've seen beautiful things and met some beautiful people and I was never sure if really ever wanted to come home. I stopped at a open mic coffee shop in Utah and heard a girl play this song with all her heart and soul. I decided right there that I needed to get back home, and that home might not be where my heart is, but its where I was born and raised, its where I learned and loved for 19 years of my life. Coming home just feels good.

Melancholy self reflection at its finest. People that have moved away from home, or travel frequently can relate. That longing to go home, to be with the people you love. This song describes my heart, it is perfection. This artist is amazing, and almost all his songs are hauntingly beautiful. Especially Sleeping Sickness with Gord Downey 💔

I seen him live years ago with a girl I really loved, I remember her starting to cry at some of his songs and I just held her the whole time, I remember what she was wearing, the way her hair was and even the way she smelt that night. Fuck I miss her, I hope she's happy with this other guy. I shouldn't be here.
