it's the kind of comedy that relentlessly pummels you until it beats you into submission, and then right at the point when you've realised that you can't get out of the beating and you've just sort of accepted it and are settling in to just endure until it's over, it hits you with a blow totally out of left field that sets your ears ringing and the world goes out from under you and suddenly you're on the floor and they're just kicking you in the ribs and you're not mentally equipped to process the sheer sensory information of the pain, to understand it and really know what's happening, and you can't just lie there and wait for it to stop because you can't comprehend the the things you're feeling, but you can't do anything to stop it either, so you're just on the ground, breathless with a kind of bewildered, lost, winded, animal panic and every second feels like it has to be the last and then the next second just happens anyway and it feels like it's the first one, again and again and you can't stop it like that but with laughing

Broden represents the primal aspect of humanity, in touch with the spirits and elder secrets that beasts have whispered to us for centuries. Mark represents the coming age of separation between man and nature, and with it a growing confusion regarding the truths we once knew to be absolute. Mark’s greeting to Broden, however, contrasts the idea that the new age is wrought only with loss, as the kiss symbolizes man’s capacity for affection when they are not forced to spend every waking second defending their lives from the elements. Zakk is the every man, caught in the struggle and torn between two worlds the way a babe is torn between love for his father and his mother. The two worlds collide around him, and he, a stranger to both (though he doesn’t know it,) is caught in the tumult with no recourse. Years from now, this slice of our modern day will serve as a guidebook for future generations to toe the line and find the balance before we are consumed by the inevitable ebb and flow of change.
