Blood Diamond just missing that counter 2 off the guard at 3:37. It looks like a similar counter variation to the check hook off the guard (Brad did a video on). I'm glad Blood Diamond is in the UFC #welterweightdivisionincoming

It’s strongly recommended at CKB to wear headgear during sparing. It’s a good culture they developed. Save some brain cells during training.

Quick question Brad, how come you guys use headguards for sparring even at a lighter pace as shown in the vid? Is it more so based for cuts etc or concussions? All the best from UK

I remember one video where eugene was literally was scolding Israel in front of everyone for not wearing headgear. I think they have very disciplined gym culture.

for cuts, when shooting etc if someone throws up a kick or toes hitting eyes etc. cuts interfere with a lot of training so better safe than sorry.

Tis an addicting game. Too bad It gives you brain damage, I quit after experiencing concussions after a year of sparring guys two weightclasses above me for amateurs. Fingers cross I have no long term effects. I really love the game though, if there were no ill health effects I would pick fighting as my first career path.

If you got a head concussion from sparing then you or your training partners are sparing wrong! As you can see from this sparring session everyone is pulling power and the sparring technique driven.

Hope you’re all good man, when i spar someone and they start trying to ramp the power up to much i ask “ are we sparring or fighting “ and that makes them chill haha . If they keep going hard i’ll smash their leg with leg kicks real quick and tell em chill . Gotta protect you and sparing partners / friends always !

Yea thats a shame! The gym im at is well controlled, and the coaches often say keep it light. Ive seen many gyms in NZ here not care anout saftey which sucks

Personally I'd prefer sparring videos without the music. Makes it more enjoyable to watch to me, hearing the sounds of the impact and everything. Just trying to be constructive, thanks for the upload regardless.
