That's how I pour my oil in too. If done correctly it also inhibits corrosion over a large area.

One thing is for sure..... You know your shit mate. My daily driver is a Saab 93 but I keep coming back for more. I've chucked rainmaker Ray last two videos I watched of his he replaced extensive parts when fixing the old one or a workaround is far more entertaining to watch as far as I'm concerned. Having done an oil change on my 63 plate Aygo with 58,000 miles it sounded much less tappy on acceleration but now it's got a few miles on the oil it has slightly got louder. I used 5W30 and was considering trying 10W40 as I'd read it was better at reducing the tapping under acceleration but think I'll give it a miss now I've seen / heard your results. It only taps when hard pushed and once you ease off the gas it goes quiet again, funny little engines. Will have a look at the MAP and PCV at some point as I'd already seen DAB diy's video on it last week. Many thanks, great stuff as always.

(First I thought I've to remove the whole intake manifold to get access to the MAP-sensor 😵‍💫) The PCV valve i've cleaned any weeks ago and like your style with break cleaner, it works well. My girlfriend has a toyota passo. It’s a japan import and it’s got the 1kr-fe engine. When she used to service it her mechanic used to use 5w30 but I noticed that it burned more quickly. Since my dad is a mechanic he checked and he found an owner’s manual and he recommended that I used 10w40 in it. We did 3 oil changes with 10w40 and the oil isn’t burned as much. Between oil changes I don’t add any oil because it has never reached the low point. I change it every 5000km since we don’t have any freeways where I live and there is a lot of traffic. Gas mileage wasn’t really affected between using 5w30 and 10w40

Great thanks. My daughters yaris ticks bad when cold. Tried variety of oil. Just use 5/30 now as didnt change things. Fab little engine but annoyingly ticky when cold. Shes done 100k now not a single fault…….

The 5w 30 cold sounds more Tapity than the 10W 40 But when warm the 5w 30 sounds quiet compared to the 10w 40 🤔 Weird 🤷🏻‍♂️ Another great upload that man 👍😉

I generally try to go for 0w30 if it's available. I tried 0w20 once and would never use it again due to increased oil consumption, the engine was quieter with 0w20 but it's hard to get a hold of and burns off about twice as fast as 0w30 (I tried is as my 2012 model service manual specs 0w20). I'd love to try 0w16 as it's supposed to fix the oil burning issues of 0w20 but don't really want to risk it so will probably just stick to 0w30

Best way to hear piston slap when cold second gear light throttle it's not a problem goes away when engine worms up they all do it change oil every 6 months or 3 thousand miles will Last for ever well 100k

I'm watching this one this week, I have just this last week serviced my petrol lawnmower and put in 10w 40 instead of the S.A.E 30 that's recommended and it's smokes like a bitch now on cold start 🤣 another quality video 👍

Ive had the exact same problem with the remote cable on a difrent player in my c1.. i Made i switch back on the amp.So i have to open the boot and turn on the stupid thing every time im taking the car..The battery has bin drained about 10 times sense that cus i forget to turn the bloody thing off😖 Annyways,tnx for a great video.im off to change oil and put in 5-30👍

if its drinking oil then go for the 10/40...mine uses next to nothing vs it used 5/30

Engine flush should only be used for a car that the engine is stained with burned on or sludge in oil ,or a car that you don't know the service history of,like a car you've just purchased ..if you change your oil regularly it's not needed,and in fact flushes wash all the seals in the engine resulting in engine leaks..

My car engine became so shaky while idling after I spilled oil on engine mounts can changing engine mounts solve the problems share your thoughts please

Reckon I could clean the pcv with brake cleaner? Just done the vvti. It’s helped and I’m going to be making my way round the sensors & valves next. I haven’t done an oil change in about 13/14k though I’m gonna be doing one on the weekend how bad do you reckon it’ll be😅. I run 5w/30 but my cars one with free road tax and 2012 model so I might try the 0w30 while we still have decent weather.

Is that normal? I've got around 192k on the clock IIRC. Did cleaning your PCV valve and MAP sensor reduce your oil consumption, and if so, by how much?

Mate look at the bad obsession guys, they and others in the racing series run 0w20. My 2009 Aygo owners manual specifies 0w20 as the preferred oil for all conditions on the 1kr engine. I don't know where this consensus that 5w30 is preferred came from but I reckon it was some idiot citron/Peugeot dealer because they can't be bothered to get 0w20 in.
