If you're trying to move up to the next difficulty level in Civ 6 whether that's prince, emperor, diety, or any other, this video is going to help you get it done
Here's a link to the Miro board that I showed near the start of the video - miro.com/app/b...
Civ 6 has dozens of mechanics to understand. These mechanics are one aspect of the game that make a small piece function. To be better at Civ 6 or any other game, you have to learn the mechanics and how you can use them to your advantage.
Here's a list of mechanics in Civ 6 that I put together. I'll update this as time goes on and will eventually make the same thing for Civ 7 when it comes out. I've also included a link to a public Miro board in the description where this is stored so you can go there or pause to read.
Winning on the next difficulty level
If you're ready to move up in difficulty no matter what level you're playing today, it all comes down to understanding more of the game's mechanics and improving your ability to leverage those mechanics.
Understand that if you're barely winning on Prince, you've got to change the way you play if you want to win on King.
Instead of saying "well I guess I'll just try a harder difficulty", take a look at the mechanics list and think about where you have some learning to do. Go study that mechanic a bit and really get to understand how it works and then implement that learning into your game play.
On the highest difficulty levels, you have to start thinking about mechanic stacking. What I mean by this is aligning different mechanics that help each other make you even more powerful. Here's an example.
Let's say you're going for a science victory. At the easier levels, you just need to understand that you have to build a bunch of campuses, have a city or two with high production, build space ports in those cities, and launch a bunch of space missions. So you are understanding a few isolated mechanics related to doing the minimum work needed to get a science victory.
To win on higher levels, you're going to need to understand more mechanics AND stack those mechanics to give you magnified benefits.
In addition to what was mentioned above, you'll need to understand governments and their buffs and debuffs. You'll need to understand chopping mechanics and when it's beneficial to chop and have the right governor with the right promotion in place to maximize the chops. You'll want to stack policy cards that give science and space program benefits. You'll want to have the right governor in one of your production cities and with the right promotion to increase space projects. You'll need to understand spy mechanics and know how to sabotage other civs production and space progress. You'll also need to understand all of the victory types and keep an eye on civs that might be getting close to a religious or cultural victory. You'll need better understanding of combat and military mechanics as well to defend against more powerful civs and to attack and slow down other civs that might be getting close to victory.
Each difficulty level increase is going to require you have better understanding of more of these mechanics and how to align them for a higher benefit.
So spend some time looking over all the mechanics and look for opportunities to improve each time on one or more of these mechanics.
Any questions about mechanics or things you think I missed? Drop them below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

I dont want to be too negative, but i feel like this video just repeats the mantra of "You need to better understand mechanics", which is a tad vague, and definitely not a secret.

Appreciate the feedback. I see alot of people new and old to civ talking about the game that don't understand it, which is in part why I made the video. A video deep diving into every mechanic would be many hours long, so I didn't see that as a viable or correct approach. The intent was to introduce the idea of mechanics to people not thinking about it that way and then point everyone to the board for a holistic list of Civ 6 specific mechanics that people could use to analyze their own understanding of the game and where they need to improve. I'll think about what I can do better next video. In the meantime, if you have specific questions about mechanics or a game scenario you're trying to improve, I'm happy to reply with more specific advice. I've also got videos on specific mechanics like attacking cities, using trade routes, moving armies, and others that deep dive on specific mechanics and will make future videos in a similar style deep diving on a particular mechanic

@@MatatodosGaming I understand you, I just felt that the video was too long for what it was conveying, as you ended up repeating yourself a lot. I would even mind the clickbait if it was YT short.
