1952 ல் சிவாஜியின் இரண்டாவது படத்தில் ( பணம்) ஜோடி சேர்ந்த பத்மினி 1986 ல் சிவாஜியுடன் தாய்க்கு ஒரு தாலாட்டு, லட்சுமி வந்தாச்சு இரு படங்களில் ஜோடியாக நடித்தார். வயது, தோற்றம், நடிப்பு பாணி என்று சகலவிதத்திலும் இருவருக்கும் பல ஒற்றுமைகள் உண்டு. 34 வருடங்களில் 50 மேற்பட்ட படங்களில், அவற்றில் சுமார் 40ல் ஜோடியாக நடித்திருக்கிறார்கள். இளங்காதலர்களாக,இளந்தம்பதியராக. நடுத்தர மற்றும் முதிய தம்பதியராக என்று இல்வாழ்வில் பல்வேறு நிலைகளையும் அழகாக பிரதிபலித்த இந்த ஜோடிக்கு நிகர் ஏது?

Sivaji married his wife Kamala in1952 even before Parashakthi was released! Sivakumar once mentioned in one of his speech that Sivaji's mother was little worried about Sivaji's cinema industry nature so for precaution or to avoid any unwanted thing happen, she arranged marriage for Sivaji with close relative girl Kamala! How Padmini was loyal to his mother, same way Sivaji was also loyal to his mother too! Apart from that there might be an attraction, good understanding between Sivaji & Padmini and was also looked like, made for each other on screen! I remember in the 60s when Nadigar Thilagam was interviewd in Radio Singapore he was asked this question "it seems that Padmini and you acted quite a lot of movies together". Sivaji replied yes she is talented and very beautiful I must say. He never wanted to say more although the Repoter was probing for some more information.

சிவாஜி பத்மினி மேல் காதல் கொண்டிருந்தார். தன் தாயின் பிடிவாதத்தால் தான் தன் காதலை மறந்தார். கடைசியில் பத்மினி யின் திருமணத்துக்கு கூட அவர் போகவில்லை. 😊

ஆரம்பத்தில் பத்மினி மேல் சிவாஜி விருப்பம் கொண்டது உண்மை தான்.ஆனால் அந்த 1952 முதல் 1955 வரைக்கும் பத்மினி மிகவும் உச்ச நட்சத்திரம் மேலும் சிவாஜியை விட அதிக சம்பளம் பெற்றவர்.1955 ற்கு முன்பும் நன்றாக நடித்து வந்த சிவாஜி மேலும தன்னை மெருகேற்றி பத்மினியின் உச்சத்திற்கு மேல் சென்று ஒரு கட்டத்தில் பத்மினிக்கே சிவாஜியின் மேல் நட்புடன் காதலும் வந்தது என்று சொல்லலாம். நன்றாக கூர்ந்த கவனித்தால் டூயட் பாடல்களில் எம் ஜி ஆர் உடன் எப்படி நடித்திருக்கிறார் சிவாஜியுடன் எப்படி நடித்திருந்தார் என பத்மினியின் கண்களே சொல்லிவிடும். பின்னாட்களில் சிவாஜி பற்றிய ஏக்கம் மணதின் ஓர் மூலையில் பத்மினிக்கு இருந்தது என்பது அவரின் பல பேட்டிகளில் இருந்து தெரிகிறது.

There were unconfirmed reports going around then that Sivaji was very much interested in marrying Padmini. But, he was said to be bound by his mother's command to marry Kamala madam. This was said to be the reason that Sivaji did not attend Padmini's marriage. This aside, it is interesting to watch you narrate behind the screen anecdotes in old film world. But, I get a sense, though you begin nicely but your narration ends abruptly without a proper end.
