I added a 3ft string of white leds under the hood of my charger since dodge chose to not have a light in there. I wired it up to a ball switch to turn em on when I open the hood.

It was nice to see something different this time around. My trunk and interior lighting on my 90's daily driver was very dim indeed so I just installed LED replacement bulbs that plugged right into the existing sockets. I couldn't believe how much brighter my interior is now. It was an amazing improvement. The idea of the strip LED'S was a good one but my experience is that most things held on by adhesive never last. After two months of extreme temperatures they probably will let go and release from their original position. Easier just to upgrade the bulbs.

Hey Eric.... just a suggestion for easier installation: Tape over the existing bulb, or use a blown one, and solder the wires to the end of the bulb, and run the wires to the original socket. This way you keep the factory wiring untouched. Thanks for the great vids!

I did that during a winter. I used 2 white cob led bars. I just removed the old bulb and replaced it by an empty 158 base in which I have soldered the wires coming from the led bars. No need to solder anything in the cold !

I keep a roll of sticky-backed LED strip on hand 'cause everybody likes my trunk light so much, they end up wanting one. :D A little bit of aluminum L-channel doubles as a light shield and a heatsink for the LEDs, slap a few neodymium magnets on the backside with CA glue, solder on a quick disconnect, and k'doink! Let there be LIGHT!

The ones I enjoyed installing were "L.E.D.'s on a rope." They were in clear plastic, spaced evenly, you could cut to length then use the "spaced" wiring to connect them! I put them in several utility body cabinets. Looked like bright sun in the cabinet, and at night it helped to light up just outside the cabinet. Great Video! Reminded me of the "rope light."

Nice! I did something similar on my Nissan as an under-hood light. I put them on the underside of the hood and on the side walls under where the fenders bolt up. Easy to do and so much nicer to work on. There wasn't a factory light to tap into, but there was a hood pin for the alarm, so I grounded through that.

I used one of these kits with power supply and remote fob to light my diecast car display cabinet at home. The strips have a resistor for each diode to bring them down to about 3 volts. I used the warm white kit of 15 feet for about $30 off of Amazon. Makes the cars look like they are on a 60's used car lot!

Chinesium LED FTW! I have used similar lights before with good success. The 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee I had was equipped with cargo lights on the liftgate so when it was open, the light shown on the ground, not the hatch. A couple of LED strips and I was seeing again, much like your Hondu. Happy New Year!

Good so see some Honda action. Well worth a punt at $4.99 and you did a good job of installing them. At the end of the day this is your own car so you can do as you see fit. The day after I passed my driving test I bought a '79 Civic with the 1200cc engine and the 2 speed Hondamatic transmission. From 2005-2013 I owned several Triumph Acclaims which were a sedan version of the 2nd generation Civic. It was the first product of the British Leyland/Austin Rover/Rover Group and Honda partnership.

I had an 89 Ford Probe (sad, isn't it?) once without the trunk light. Turned out the factory still installed the light housing, the switch...and coiled the wires behind the plastic trim. So I bought a bulb and plugged it in - and had a trunk light. :-)

We have a Honda 'Fit' (ugh) that appears to use the same factory light assembly in it's hatch area... 4 or 5 years ago got an LED upgrade for it's 194 (IIRC) bulb that is very bright. Came from an online outfit; 'Super Bright' or some such, but I understand many places make them now. Got a dome light replacement as well thats also very nice. Both have so far proven trouble free; however note they're both are a bit on the harsh side, but even having said that, are an enormous improvement over the OEM bulbs, and required no other mods. The little econobudget Fit doesn't have a glove compartment light and I'm now thinking about cobbling in one of those strips...

I put a similar, but more expensive, light strip in my closet and I love it. So much more light and much more even light. No more stupid fluorescents. I've been an electrician for well over 20 years and I only use 3M Super 33+. It is the best by far. Also I agree with the Knipex assessment. They make excellent diagonal and side cutters and such. That good German steel hardened to woodpecker lips level. Except I call them nye pex. As the "kni" in knife. Anyway great video Eric. Love your channel and have seen a couple hundred of your videos.
