I earned the rank of Cadet Colonel in Civil Air Patrol. 30+ years later I still utilize the skills I gained from CAP. Wonderful organization to be a part of.

For 12 yrs I've had the privilege to be a part of this outstanding organization, despite my disability of Cerebral Palsy I answered the call to service, and whilst we aren't paid monetarily the best payment for me is the thanks of those we help, the veterans I've worked with throughout the years, plus mentoring and leading the generations of tomorrow's leaders!

I retired from the USAF 25 years ago and I am now getting involved with CAP. It's time for me to give back. Thank you for your service.

Hey.....am currently taking care of a beautiful lady who joined the civil air patrol in 1942.....she tells me she was assigned in luscombe 8b and she flew patrol on Saturdays and Sundays from Tampa to an airfield south of Miami looking for submarines. Her name is Ninetta M.

This is the best...current presentation of CAP I have ever seen...Very well done young man. Thats long praise because I'm a lifetime CAP member who started my career as cadet...went thru the program, joined the USAF and continued on into cadet programs and ES, and AE. Would you consider doing some more??

some airman would do i think 4 months of civil air patrol before boot camp to get rank E3 (airman 1st class) other than that civil air patrol isn't respected on the military side from what i noticed

The air force version of the coast guard auxiliary. Just like sea scouts or young marines, they're basically boy scouts in air force uniforms. The adults are like scout masters. They were usually pretty fun when they shuffled up to you in their cap uniform and started giving orders.
@Texasmilitarydepartmentvid96544 жыл бұрын
The Young Marines & Naval Sea Cadet Corps are Youth Cadet Program similar to High School JROTC. The Civil Air Patrol Air Force Auxiliary & Coast Guard Auxiliary & State Guard are used by the Department of Homeland Security to provide Search & Rescue to the state .
@jacobj32364 жыл бұрын
So the boy scouts do search and rescue and work alongside the national guard during disasters? Didn't think so. Also, if they are boy scout equivalent, how is it possible that if you are in the CAP and have a certain rank, you can join the Air Force with the rank of E-3? CAP were the only ones in the air during 9/11 also and take footage of disasters to help assess the situation for the military. They aren't boy scouts. Not everyone wants to go to war.

@lukeolson23825 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, join your local squadron
@CreepaZX5 жыл бұрын
You can join your local squadron as a senior cadet, and learn with other seniors with you. I'm currently the rank of an Airman, so I don't know much. You'd need to look up more on the site, and get information about your local area and it's squadron.
@ronaldrobertson23324 жыл бұрын
@@CreepaZX I think he said he's 41years of age? He'd be a senior member, cadet. 1LT Ronald Robertson Nebraska Wing
@ronaldrobertson23324 жыл бұрын
You would very much be welcome as a senior member. As a mission pilot, when you complete CAP/ES qualifications, and your status as a paramedic, you would be welcome as a ground search and rescue team member. For more information, especially for the location of your local squadron, go to: gocivilairpatrol.com. That should set you in the right direction.
@liamgriffin2183 жыл бұрын
There’s more than one place for you in C.A.P. you could be a Squadron Medical Officer, a Pilot, and first aid comes in handy on SAR missions.
